Im a Former Bush Pilot CFI. Good 3 feet Flap Cut Trick you did on landing. You can add some more flaps on take off too for Vx climb. I also use Vx flaps to taxi on grass (Taxi Flaps)

Fun video. The approach looked so close to the trees. I bet if you try an identical approach with an additional year of vegetation growth, you're going to be trimming treetops!

You might be right about that. Lol.

Dang, you probably cleared one of those trees by 3'. I saw you fixated on that one particularly close tree as you came in. I suppose that brushing a treetop with a wing isn't likely to cause a crash, but if it had caught your gear as you whipped by.... VGs aren't that much money right?

I believe you forgot to do your gear check! I'm never going to let that go.... ha ha. Well done buddy. Love the videos

Nice flying, as always. I’ve flown my Musketeer off grass but Hope CYHE is a lot longer runway... 🙂

Full flaps on approach will get you much lower than 80mph and you will not float.
@fastbackflying8532 жыл бұрын
If you have VGs on the airplane it will approach and land nicely below 80mph. I have full flaps for this approach and maintained 80mph. Coming in slower causes nasty pitch and landing issues with the stock airplane.

No need to come that close to those trees at the end of the runway with that much runway to land. You even glanced over real quick yourself, of course you couldn't have done anything at that point. 1900 is plenty for that airplane. Fly Safe!
@fastbackflying8532 жыл бұрын
1900ft can go very quickly and due to obstacles and orientation of the runway there are some very strange winds that can push you alot further than you expect. Safety is always a priority and additional caution and perhaps a precautionary is required when visiting a new runway. This runway is a place I have gone hundreds of times in many airplanes over the years and I felt very comfortable with my approach.

Great video. Love seeing you coming into/out of this field with a variety of aircraft.
