As a bass fisher I am not very knowledgeable about musky or pike. So I was excited to see this for I am planning on targeting them. I’ve heard about the heavier gear and how to grab them, (I’ve actually recently helped land someone’s pike). Fishing is getting huge with social media/KZbin. Lots of new fishermen. Need more videos like these to help educate. I will most definitely fish these muskies in the proper temperature conditions now. Thanks

Jim W Thank you so much for watching and for the comment. We truly appreciate it. If you have any questions along the way in getting into Pike and Muskies don’t hesitate to ask. Either in the comments of our KZbin page or on the Spot On Fishing Facebook page. Always happy to help. Good luck and thanks again!

I'm glad I stumbled on this video! Great information that I didn't know. Now I just have to figure out how to catch one...

Good info! I watched a guy on the fox river the other day try to unhook a muskie for like 5 minutes and then try to revive it for like 15 minutes after... I hope the fish swam away after.

Thats It, We're Goin Fishin! It’s hard to say. If it was early in the morning, water temps in the river may have been below 80. Shallow, moving water of the river warms much faster then lakes. Regardless of that, 5 minutes is a long time for a Muskie to be out of the water. Way too long. Here’s hoping that fish made it. Thank you for watching and thanks for the compliment.

It was around 9 am and it looked like he was scared to grab the mukie to unhook it, which resulted in it being out of the water for longer than it should have been. Also, it was in slower moving water south of the Montgomery dam.

Thats It, We're Goin Fishin! OK, I gotcha. Well, let’s hope it made. Out of curiosity did it look like a bigger Muskie? Would you say it was over 40 or low to mid 30’s?

It looked like a maybe 30 inch fish. Glad you're putting good info out there!
