Muskoka Ontario Travelogue (1961)

A short segment from a Muskoka Travelogue produced in 1961, transferred from 16mm film.
Retrontario’s primary mission is the preservation, research and exhibition of rare videotape recordings (1970s to 1990s) recorded off of any and all Ontario (and surrounding area) TV channels; footage which would likely be lost if not sought out and preserved digitally. We also hope to create an ongoing oral history of this content through comments left below the videos. This was filmed at Clevelands House and Windermere House on Lake Rosseau. I worked at Cleves from 1988-91. Sadly, it's fallen into disrepair since the pandemic, and I believe it's slated to be torn down.

Mitch Goldhar bought Clevelands House plus town of Minett from Ken Fowler so expect a redevelopment.

Can you imagine how Muskoka might grow becoming the biggest cottage town of them all. Better have a hospital, fire department, supermarket, thrift store, and police department if this cottage town grows bigger than Oshawa.
