Brian, now that I have watched in full, the video was awesome and really impressed with your making the Bubba dance to entice that beauty! You rock!

Jim is one of a few muskie anglers who knows how to fight a fish. And not drag them to the net. With a big chance that the fish is going crazy in the net and in the boat. I understand that you want to catch a muskie but try to enjoy the fight.
@AnglingAnarchy2 жыл бұрын
P S I agree with you that Jim does an amazing job fighting the fish and he's confident in the way he's able to play them. I don't know that it's for everyone though, for me fighting the fish sort of comes down to reading how it's hooked. I base it on sort of reading the fish and where the bait is and that dictates how I'm going to fight it, whether that means trying to haul it in right away or maybe taking an easier play it out approach, if that makes sense 😊

I was on eagle that same week! It was tough! That new moon was so promising - I was so optimistic but couldn’t get any big girls to go. Those sunny days made for a painful grind. Came back the 1st week in October and the sucker bite was way more successful.

Karen McTavish It was definitely a tough week, but the last couple days were good to us, which you'll be seeing in a few weeks 😀 I'm glad to hear the bite was better for you recently though!

Another awesome video! It amazes me how different the fish acted on your end of Eagle as compared to the section my wife and I fished that same week (Most of our fish were real lazy behind the bait and rarely followed into the 8, especially the ones pushing 4 feet or longer). In hindsight, we should've spent more time on the stained water sections of the lake and more time in the weeds than we did. As I watch your videos and hear you talk about the flat calm and bluebird conditions, I cringe a bit thinking about how unfortunate those conditions were for 7 straight days. Regardless, nothing beats a trip to sunset country!
@AnglingAnarchy2 жыл бұрын
Cabbage Dragon Media Eagle Lake is about as touchy a body of water as I have ever fished. I think a lot of our "success" could just be luck and years of experience on that particular section of the lake. But not even that can save you from getting your butt kicked out there, and I know that all too well! 😅

That top water figure 8 was sweet! I throw a weagle a lot, and I have gotten fish to go by submerging the bait and doing a normal figure it with the bait under the water, I haven’t had any luck doing what you did but that was awesome!
@AnglingAnarchy2 жыл бұрын
Brett Schulze Thanks dude! It seems like no matter what I do on a topwater figure 8 it rarely works. I stay on top, fish gives up on it. I submerge the bait, fish takes off. Seems like I can never win, so this one was very satisfying!

Awesome catch! It always adds a little bit extra when you get em on the 8. I've been meaning to ask about your bump board, is that homemade or did you buy it somewhere? It looks great and stands out from the plain white ones everyone else has.
@AnglingAnarchy2 жыл бұрын
Brody Radenbaugh Thank you do much! Yeah, the bump board is homemade. Decided I needed a project a few years back and made it. I check it a few times a year against a tape measure to make sure there's no expansion or contraction.

Why not net the fish as soon as possible less stress on fish that way
@AnglingAnarchy2 жыл бұрын
Willy Danielson That's exactly what we strive to do. If there are any fights you think went on too long, it was only because I didn't feel I had a good shot at netting the fish. So yes, we always net the fish as soon as possible.
