I know Rich and speak with him often. He’s a great teacher of muskie and I’m proud to be one of his students. Thank you for putting Rich’s extensive knowledge out there for others to learn. Every time I speak with him I have a system overload from all his knowledge he’s passed onto me.

The counter punch is a really cool bait. I've seen it move fish when nothing else I threw at them would. You can fish it deep and those propellers create some crazy noise & vibration.

Rich is such a great teacher. I met him at the musky expo from 2 years ago. A true ambassador of the sport.

Learning so much from this series of videos with Rich. And I Live in Svängsta(ABU) in Sweden and only fish for pike! Slightly different species and behaviour but, they do also have alot in common.

Your equipment is alot heavier than ours. I'm using a Curado 201 for my jerk 6'"4 1-3oz rod, and for now, a Tatula 300TWS on a SG2 7'3" 2,5oz to 5oz. But, I am only using normal/light baits. Am new to the game, haven't had a 40"+ yet. Hopefully this year?!

There are so many lures and so many individuals in the sport. Rich loves sharing his experience. Congratulations fellas. Keep the wives happy. Let them catch the big ones! I would be glad to show either one of you some of the tools and processes used in making these lures. Possibly create your own burning 8s variation.

My first probably 4 or 5 musky came on those beetle spin style baits.

I had a rough couple weeks fishing and rich mentioned curley spins from enticer tackle i popped a 48 within a couple days of recieving my order. Next up is landing a monster on a hair jig this fall. Great video.
@richreinert9272 жыл бұрын
Ryan those Curly Spins work well it's amazing to me that more musky fisherman don't give them a chance.

could you please explain and show the casting technique for big lures, like bulldawgs and bigbaits up to 12 oz, without hurting shoulder and back? a thousand thanks
@GregK92 жыл бұрын
Do you use a trailer on those jigs, Rich?
@richreinert927 Жыл бұрын
No they have a blade or trailer built into them, I prefer the blades
@normspringett7462 жыл бұрын
I will never stop fishing jigs for muskies. It's really a timeless tactic that will work from ice-out to to ice-up. When your spots and regular tactics aren't producing, you should give jigs a try. Neutral to Inactive fish cannot resist a jig vertically or slow hopped passed them. My son just caught a 4' plus on a jig 2 weeks ago. I'd like to post a picture, but cannot figure out how. Wet nets everyone!

Norm I saw the pic, nice fish! Jigs put a lot of fish in the boat and big fish but musky fisherman seem to close their mind to it.
