These scholars, among others, argue based on historical, textual, and external evidence that the Gospels were written by the disciples.

Prophet SAW said "After I am gone, you will see great conflict. I urge you to adhere to my Sunnah and the path of the Rightly-Guided Caliphs, and cling stubbornly to it. And beware of newly-invented matters, for every innovation is a going astray" (Ibn majah 42,43, Riyad salihin 701 , hadith 28, hadith an nawawi, Mishkat al-Masabih 165, Sunan Abi Dawud 4607) This hadith "adhere my sunnah and rightly guided caliphs and hold it stubbornly" is not saying to follow Caliphs individual teachings, he saying they will protect sunnah. In the same way when Prophet says I'm leaving you two weighty things book of allah and my family, doesn't mean you follow new individual teachings of his family even if they invent things in religion, it means they will protect book of allah and they know,follow his teachings. Why they are not allowed to add festivals/ bidah's means Preaching of islam is completed by prophet himself as stated in quran Prophet Muhammad SAW Prophecized Abu bakr becoming caliph. When they rejecting Abu bakr as Caliph they not just rejecting Abu bakr they also rejecting Prophet mohammad SAW's prophecy which is kuffr. The Prophet said, "But I should say, 'O my head!' I feel like calling Abu Bakr and his son and appoint (the former as my successors lest people should say something or wish for something. Allah will insist on Abu Bakr becoming a Caliph - Sahih Bukhari 7217

I left Christianity, became Muslim and was headed down the Shia path. Alhamdulilah he guided me to the follow the Quran, sunnah, all under the understanding of the early Sahaba. One thing that struck me was how Shia worship the Imams and even call on them as intermediaries. It felt identical to Christianity and how I used to call on Jesus. I came to Islam to worship Allah and Allah alone.

It has been narrated on the authority of Jabir b. Samura who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: Islam will continue to be triumphant until there have been twelve Caliphs. Then the Prophet (ﷺ) said something which I could not understand. I asked my father: What did he say? He said: He has said that all of them (twelve Caliphs) will be from the Quraish. Sahih Muslim 1821d Book 33, Hadith 8 Like Muhammed Ali said in the beginning of this debate, bring it back to Qur'an and Messenger. The Messenger (pbuh) said there will be 12 Khalifas (Imams, or whatever titles you want to use). Can Sunnis name all these 12 people that they were supposed to follow? The thing that makes Shias really dislike Sunnis' behaviour as seen in these comments, is that they say that Shias are kafirs.

I am an ex-Shia originally from Afghanistan and I am a Sayyid. After reading the entire Quran with the intention of seeking the truth back in 2013, I realized that the foundations of Sunni belief is mentioned in details in explicit verses multiple times while the foundations of Shia belief is not only not found in the Quran but it in fact warns against those concepts which is the foundation of Shiaism. Therefore, I was faced with two alternatives: 1) Either I ignore the clear message of the Quran and continue being a Shia because it is difficult to accept that I have been wrong up until this moment and just continue believing what I have been growing up with because its convenient, or 2) Literally implement the meaning of the word ´´Muslim´´ which means submission to the will of Allah swt, and with all humility and genuinety accept the message of the Quran even if it has been against my belief all the time up until now. Of course, with the guidance of Allah swt, I ended up choosing the second alternative, and since 2013, I am a proud Muslim who follows pure tawhid and the authentic Sunnah of the Prophet SAW. Ever since then I feel an inner peace and security for disassociating myself from shirk and superstitious beliefs, rituals and practices. My advice to the sincere Shias is to read the Quran and as you are reading it constantly ask yourself whether you see the core beliefs of Shiaism in it or not, without resorting to word-games, weird analogies, twisted examples from every day life or using weak and fabricated narrations.

I’m very confused. Why are they following 12 imams when the Quran clearly states Prophet Muhammad (SAW) is the last and final messenger. Meaning there are no teachings of Allah(SWT) to follow after him as the final messenger. And they praise Ali more than any Prophet including Prophet Muhammad (SWT). Why are they praising humans and not focussing only on Allah(SWT). Allah(SWT) commanded to follow His teachings in Quran and from the final messenger Prophet Muhammed(SAW). This particular discussion is only about which beliefs is Qur'an aligned with, whose foundations are found in the Qur'an by looking at it alone. Since we disagree on the other sources what is the point of the opposing side cherry picking from it what they think suits their position, it leads nowhere since they are not using the source as a whole or accepting it in the first place. Do we accept this hadith, yes but we also accept all the other ahadith that are reliable and give information on the topic, and conclusion is based on looking at the revelation altogether regarding it. But as the brother said even if he were to be charitable and accept this idea that the shia bring without the support of the Qur'an itself, where does it in the verse say that you should follow them? It doesn't, and purification is mentioned in other places for all the companions, so now what? With all due respect shi'as in this comment section who've written their objections only show that they are one of 2 things. They are either insincere and choose to ignore what was clearly demonstrated using purely the Qur'an, or they didn't listen and comprehend the points being made correctly so they basically didn't grasp the conversation. If you want to say the brother is misrepresenting something either from our position or yours or denying it, the live streams are open for you, come and say it bravely to his face and demonstrate it with evidence instead of accusing him of lying and deception while sitting behind your keyboard.

they did left zorastianism and Iran became an important part of Islamic world and empire but in 16 century the Safavid dynasty came in power and they were sufis and in fear of ottomans becoming popular in Iran because they are the same religion, the safavids became Shia and imported hundreds of top shia clerics from lebanon and started prosecuting sunni majority Iran, closing down their Mosques, killing their religious leaders and killing anyone who resisted, thats why ottomans called them kafirs and went in war with safavids but they started good but not successful in the end because they were fighting two front and also this was also the reason that modern day Afghanistan region rebelled in 18 century and dismantled the safavid dynasty but unfortunately they lost power in a few years because mahmod hotaki died young and next iranian dynasty kept iran a shia state, yiu can search “how Iran became Shia” amd also there is a book called ‘The History of Ismail Safavi - The Bringers of Shiism’ you can read this in Persian and Arabic

If you study the theology from the time of Ali May Allah be pleased with him and especially after the death of Hussein may Allah be pleased with him, and you read how the theology developed over the centuries - it seems clear to me that many Persians did not truly give up their pagan roots after Islam spread to them. It just went underground and morphed into shi'ism. I'm not talking geopolitics here. Specifically the theology. For example, why do they revere Hussein and his line so much more than Hasan? Oh, they give different answers, but none that really explain the huge difference in reverence. But when you learn that the Persians of old used to trace their kings' bloodlines through their mothers, and then you learn that Hussein may Allah be pleased with him married one of the last Persian princesses after the muslims conquered Persia, it all makes sense. They don't truly revere Hussein's line because of Hussein (and Ali). They revere Hussein's line because the mother is the link to the old Persian kings
