A lady once was shocked when I told her, I remove my hijab at home (at that time, I used to live alone with my mom who was a widow, now AlhamduliLlah I'm married). And I was like, why should I wear the hijab if I am alone or with my own mother lol. I live in a majority Catholic country, Italy, but I am originally from Algeria, and grew up in a strict Muslim household AlhamduliLlah. I heard a lot of nonsense but we must have patience. And why the question "why only women cover", as if Christian men and women were supposed to dressed in the same way. Which I doubt.

Also generally I wouldn't use the term "strict muslim household" because that in a way justifies disobedience and disbelief as being "moderate", but Allah (swt) says what can be translated to: {And thus We have made you [believers] a *median* [just] community} 2;143 Meaning that islam is the medium and moderate path, and everything else isn't.

Muhammad Ali i hope you read this. There is one indication that some women do tend to forget things during their pregnancy, they have this syndrome called pregnancy brain. So here women through experiences of forgetfulness which men don't . That could be a reason for this contract agreement to have two women as witnesses. The ayah also says if one forgets the other can remind her. Do pls study this pregnancy brain, it is a scientifically established fact.

I thought she raised a good question, as in the claim made is 'never' which isn't true as there are examples in history where there are exceptions. The point is, if Islam is the Truth, how can it make a claim that is contradicted by reality? She's basically checking the Truth of Islam, which is reasonable for her to do if she's considering becoming Muslim in sha'Allah.

Some comments from my humble opinion: 1-loved the explanation of deficiency vs reduction 2-loved the context of the black slave for witnessing, as well as the Hadith where the prophet saw made an exception. Two things didn’t know 3-I recommend finding a better reason than emotions. Nowhere in Islam does it say the woman is more emotional, nor does Islam blame emotions on periods. Although i agree, i would refrain from using this justification as it’s not based on Islam. 4-a woman won’t subdue a man. Good point 5-if female leadership Hadith is not referring to a nation, and applies to all females, it may not apply to certain cases like monarchies where women INHERIT leadership? I’m just trying to justify why bilqis was commended but the Hadith says ‘never’ 6-the point of advisors being male: kind of irrelevant bc she’s still a leader. About the testimony of a single woman, you can give the example of hadith (prophetic narrations), which is more important than a normal testimony, because all our religion is based on those hadith. How many narrations are only transmitted by Aisha. Nobody says "we don't accept her narrations because she is a woman".

Something to think about is the fact that if you looked at chess rankings (which has nothing to do with a male’s vs female’s physical qualities), the top female chess player is ranked around 50th vs the top male chess player who is ranked 1st. So if there was a job interview for leadership using these rankings, I don’t believe there would be any females making it onto the shortlist. I’m a woman and even I cannot deny this data. With that being said, even though I’m a pretty ambitious person who grew up in the West, I actually think it would be generally better for women to not have the responsibility of leadership for multiple reasons: 1. If the government is taking good care of me and using my tax dollars efficiently, I don’t think I would care so much about whether I have the right to vote or not, let alone be able to hold office. 2. If I was being taken good care of, I’d rather sit back and relax and have an easy life. 😂 People think being a leader is fun when in fact it’s a lot of work and responsibility to have to look after a nation. 3. I believe that under Islamic rules, if you don’t do a good enough job as a political leader, the punishment can be quite harsh. Why bear the responsibility of this? Especially since for us, it’s much harder to outwork men who don’t have to experience the pain of menstruation every month. 4. Part of a political leader’s job is to make pragmatic decisions and standing up against other countries’ leaders, who can be ruthless about attacking you. Being more emotional and nurturing by nature as a woman means that this can be extremely stressful on us and doesn’t bode good outcomes for neither us nor the people impacted by the decisions being made.
