Here we begin our series by overviewing the history between Islam and
Science. Jay takes us through a brief history of the early Muslim practitioners of science before moving on to the recent resurgence of “Islamic Science”.
Al Fadi and Jay then discuss the reason why “Islamic Science” has made such a huge impact in the Muslim world.
Finally we end with an introduction to the next series where there is a brief
discussion of what we will be covering in the series including the embryological cycle and the where does honey come from? The honeycomb or the abdomen of the Bee?

Jay you are wrong. It was the ancient Greeks who are credited with inventing trigonometry. More specifically, Hipparchus, who was an astronomer and lived between 190-120 B.C

I do not have any peer reviewed papers of the 20Century signed by him and published in any modern day journals or any video of him as he was actually inventing trigonometry, if that is what are looking for, to be a little facetious.... From Brittanica: 'Hipparchus’s most significant contribution to mathematics may have been to develop-if not actually invent-a trigonometry based on a table of the lengths of chords in a circle of unit radius tabulated as a function of the angle subtended at the centre. Such a table would, for the first time, allow a systematic solution of general trigonometric problems, and clearly Hipparchus used it extensively for his astronomical calculations. Like so much of Hipparchus’s work, his chord table has not survived.'

One of the proofs of Islam are the miracles of the Qur'an. It is after all a book of Signs. 1. Have We not made the earth as a bed, and the mountains as pegs? (Qur'an, 78:6-7) Newly its scientifically proven that mountains have deep roots to stabilize the earth just like tent pegs. Visually and functionally. 2. Have not those who disbelieved known that the heavens and the earth were one connected entity, then We separated them?... (Qur'an, 21:30) it's the Big bang that scientist talked about in recent times. 3. No! If he does not stop, We will take him by the naseyah (front of the head), a lying, sinful naseyah (front of the head)! (Qur'an, 96:15-16) Scary how the Qur'an called a man's forehead “lying” 1400 years ago. It's recently discovered that the Prefrontal lobe wich is exactly at the front of the head, that is responsible for lying and despetivnes. 4. He has set free the two seas meeting together. There is a barrier between them. They do not transgress. (Qur'an, 55:19-20) - Newly discovered invisible BARRIER that separates 2 kinds of seas. Is this even a sign? it litteraly says "barrier". 5. Or (the unbelievers’ state) is like the darkness in a deep sea. It is covered by waves, above which are waves, above which are clouds. Darkness, one above another. If a man stretches out his hand, he cannot see it.... (Qur'an, 24:40) - The holy Qur'an is giving signs about the newly discovered deep (Internal) waves of the sea. Not only there is Surface waves but deep invisible ones that 1400 years ago only its creator knew of. Another Coincidence? no. 6. And the Heaven We constructed with strength, and indeed, We are expanding it. (51:47) - Recently discovered EXPANSION of the Universe. The expansion being faster than the Speed of light and a mystery to science makes this sign my favorite proven sign yet. Btw Allah is not a name. Allah litteraly means God in arabic. Many more are their. The Qur'an even talked about Atoms (indivisible) and small particals 1400 years ago, where people were dying of tooth pain (suicide / infection) and childbirth. He mentioned: 7. But those who disbelieve say, “The Hour will not come to us.” Say, “Yes, by my Lord, it will surely come to you. [Allah is] the Knower of the unseen.” Not absent from Him is an atom’s weight within the heavens or within the earth or [what is] smaller than that or greater, except that it is in a clear register. Surah Saba 34:3 7. b. Indeed, Allah does not do injustice, [even] as much as an atom's weight; while if there is a good deed, He multiplies it and gives from Himself a great reward. Al- Nisa . Verse 40 I couldnt possibly count all sigs of the Quran here. it has 6000+ verses and alomost every verse is a miracle of writing. My favorite 4 things i remember are these: 1. There are many „Easter Eggs“ in the Quran. Palindroms of key verses or verses that correlate beautifuly with eachother. See miracle of aye el kursi on youtube. 2. The Quran has many "challenge verses" the most famous is: And if you are in doubt about what We have sent down upon Our Servant [Muhammad], then produce a surah (chapter) the like thereof and call upon your witnesses other than Allah, if you should be truthful. But if you do not - and you will never be able to - then fear the Fire, whose fuel is men and stones, prepared for the disbelievers. Quranic chapters can be as short as 10 words.. no one could ever bring something the like of the Quran. many have tried and all of them failed miserably. 3. The precision of the Quran is mindboggeling. God also said in the beginning: If this book was made by Humans, you would find Mistakes and contradictions. The bible has many proven mistakes, contradictions, mathematical errors and even pornography. No human had ever proven something wrong from the many facts stated in the Quran. Example for "Godly" precision is: the word "spider" in arabic is "Ankabout". it is 100% male when said so. and you give it the "He" treatment. Funnily enough God mentions the spider few times and calls it He also. BUT the one time, God said She to the "Ankabout", he was reffering to the Spiders house ("her house"). Now its scientificaly proven that every spider type on earth ( small, big, from africa from america, doesnt matter) Only the female of which builds houses. 4. There is an entire chapter in the Quran which is named Iron. This shows how important Iron is to mankind, way more important than gold.it is essential for todays Industry. God said in the begining of the chapter: "And We sent down Iron" So why did God use the word "sent down" rather than one of his favorite words "Created". Iron was sent down after the formation of the original earth, from Space in the form of meteorites, so it gets burried underground for us to use when we are advanced enough to mine it. I searched alot and all of the rules in the Quran actualy make sense. No weird rules. No unhumane things. No Jihad war. and many of what you know about islam is probably arabic tradition and not religios content. Fun fact only 20% of Muslims are arabs. God chose Arabic because it was a very advanced language at that time and the prophet pbuh was arabic aswell. Most muslims according to their Quran are non muslims and about 2% of all muslims are real ones. God knows this and he said in the first few verses in the Quran chapter 2 verse 8 to 12: 8. Among the people are those who say, “We believe in God and in the Last Day,” but they are not believers. 9. They seek to deceive God and those who believe, but they deceive none but themselves, though they are not aware. 10. In their hearts is sickness, and God has increased their sickness. They will have a painful punishment because of their denial. 11. And when it is said to them, “Do not make trouble on earth,” they say, “We are only reformers.” 12. In fact, they are the troublemakers, but they are not aware Ask anything u want.

(to Raise or Develop is يُنشِئ) (Aakir or finalلْآخِر) (Final Creation was the purpose of initiating creation, and building up of planet earth so that comforts the Human existence). Indeed Allah, over all things, has total control."(29:20) Here Allah SWT is talking about the beginning (birth) of earth, when it got separated from the Mother-Mass after the Bing-Bang, some 14 billion years ago. When it was a hot ball or Lava and molten rocks. Then it cooled because of mountain heights and rain about 850 million years ago, and Then there was development of single cell organism some 600 million years ago and Oxygen boom, Then the stage of multi-cellular 450 million years ago and bi-sexual fast multiplication Organisms. Then there as Panspermia, and animals landed form space by Meteorites / Asteroids. 39:6 Is not the Quran the book of science, but from different direction….that is? The target of Quran is Fast aging man, who has to appear before his lord after passing this earthly life by process of birth and death.

Bees regurgitate nectar and pass it on to other bees, who then DIGEST it into their crops, where hydrolysis takes place due to digestive enzymes that the bees themselves have. This process goes on until the honey is stored in combs and left to ferment. You're simply restricting the usage of the word "honey" to only refer to this final stage in the process, while insisting that before the substance goes in to a storage, it's all just "nectar". In reality, during the process, the nectar becomes honey. If you want to draw the line somewhere during that entire process, then you better have some solid proof for that. Otherwise, it's just semantics, really. Nice try though.

I also said that before the last bee puts it in storage, it's basically already honey. You said that this process doesn't occur in the bee's stomach, but it does, actually. Indeed, in that (is) surely a sign for a people who reflect. Some comments: First thing to notice is that it says that bees can make houses in mountains. Now this is quite extraordinary, as scientists only found this out quite recently. Some bees drill in to solid rock formations to make nests, even when soft sandstone is available. Many bees dwell in desert areas, but it's rare for them to make nests in solid rock. Apis mellifera jemenitica is the native species in the Arabian peninsula, and they typically construct their nests in logs. The species that make nests in solid rocks are from America for as far as I know. "Eat from all the fruits". Bees obviously consume nectar, and bees will also consume almost any type of fruit; plums, peaches, grapes, apples, figs and pears: bees will eat those when they get the chance. "And follow (the) smoothened ways". A bee can fly to its nest in a straight line, at night, after many hours and a several kilometers long complicated route through thick vegetation; no problem. This is achieved by what is known as optical flow: like a GPS system in their brain. All other senses shut down, and they experience their surroundings as moving towards them, while they themselves appear to be standing still. This to me seems to be describing their way home, as it is preceded by the foraging, and followed by what the bees' bellies produce. A three step process then; foraging, returning home, and processing the food in the hive. "From her bellies". This is not mistranslated! Johnny TwoShoes commented on this already: min buṭūnihā literally means "from her bellies". buṭūnihā is a 3rd person feminine singular possessive pronoun for a genitive masculine plural noun: "her bellies". This lead to some confusion for many translators, and so you see many translations of this as "their bellies", but that's incorrect. It's literally "from among the multiple bellies of one female bee". If it was "their bellies", then it should've been buṭūnihin. Bees have multiple stomachs. They store the nectar in their honey stomach, aka crop. I seriously doubt that this was known by the Arabs in the time of Muhammad(saw). What I know for a fact is that the ancient Arabs believed that all the worker bees were males. Their reason for that was because the worker bees were like soldiers of the Queen, and they thought that such chivalry was a male characteristic. In fact, to my knowledge, all the great civilizations of the past believed that bees were males. It's actually quite difficult to determine sex among bees, and it wasn't until relatively recent that we found out that all of these bees that are buzzing around us are in fact females. It's actually very likely that you've never seen a male bee in your entire life. Yet, the Qur'an clearly refers to these worker bees as females. The word for "eat" there is kulī, which is for females. If it were for males, the form would be kul, instead. "Follow a path" there is us'lukī. Again, this is for females. If it were referring to male bees, it would've said us'luk. And buṭūnihā, meaning bellies, is for females, and if it were for males, it would've said buṭūnihim. Also note that the Qur'an doesn't say that the bees "shit out" the honey. It says that a drink comes forth from the inside of the bee, but coming forth isn't another way of saying "pooping". In other instances in the Qur'an where this verb is used, it refers to ejaculation or gushing, or proceeding out from something. You can come out of your home or come out of a room in your house and the same verb would be used. It doesn't say honey either. It says "drink", which is simply a liquid. Many products of a bee-hive can actually be consumed, not just the honey. And in honey and other products of the bee-hive is obviously a great medicinal benefit for people; needless to say. So I find it quite odd that such excellent descriptions become the focus of your criticism. I'm not going to start quoting Biblical descriptions, although one could. So maybe you should be more cautious concerning the things you try to deconstruct, as you'd have to be consistent, and examine your own scriptures with the same skepticism and criticism. At any rate, in my opinion, these Quranic descriptions of the bee actually prove that God revealed it, as there are.. anomalous aspects in those descriptions that become hard to explain if we're going to say that some Arab wrote that in the 7th century.

Islamic theology and Jewish theology are extremely similar. The Jews call you guys idol-worshipers. Maimonides made it haram for Jews to enter Christian churches, while he said that if a Jew cannot find a synagogue to pray in, then he can enter a mosque and pray there, because he said: Idolatry has been removed from the hearts of the Muslims. Ibn Sina - father of modern medicine, Al Harezmi - father of modern mathematics, Al Beruni - father of modern geography. They are all from the territory of Central Asia. Those cities where these people lived were in the line of great Silk Road. In fact religion has nothing to do with their talent and discoveries. When Muslims talk about these so-called scientific miracles, I always bring up theological arguments. 1st which ever verse they are talking about, read them yourself, ignore the scientific claim and instead try to understand the theological meaning of the verse in question. Then ask the Muslim, is this really about science. If he answeres yes then you can say: "the verse has a theological meaning, by forcing science into it, you forced the theology out of it." And based on that you can make some more Arguments... 2nd that means for 1400 years Muslims believed these incomprehensible ramblings from their prophet was about salvation but actually it's science. 3rd that means for 1400 years Muslims faith was wrong. And if their faith is wrong that means they are all in hell. And now my main argument: what purpose do these scientific miracles serve? I mean, in the Bible, a sign or miracle from God also had a certain purpose. Many times even multi-layered purposes. a) either it helps a person or a people immediately b) or it has prophetic properties c) or both. E.g. Moses. Moses performed many miracles. 1- He brought the 10 plagues to Egypt. 2- Moses parted the red Sea to save his people. 3- Through him God provided the Israelites with water during the 40 year Exodus. 4- Through him God provided the Israelites with bread and meat. 5- And Moses had to put at bronze snake in a staff and anyone who looked at it would not die by a snake bite. Now let's compare that to Jesus. 1- Jesus healed the people from sickness. 2- Jesus walked on the sea and he commanded the sea to calm down, to save his disciples. 3- Jesus claimed to have the water that doesn't make you thirsty anymore. 4- Jesus claimed to have and to be the bread of life. And he also multiplied the bread and the fish. 5- Jesus was crucified and all who are to look at the cross, will not perish but live with Christ. See the parallels? Moses miracles had an immediate purpose. That is to help his people. But they also had a prophetic purpose, that is to set up criteria on how to recognise the Messiah. Jesus miracles had an immediate purpose, that is to help people. And they had a fulfilling purpose, that is to meet the criteria that were set up by Moses. And there was the overarching purpose. In Deu 18:18 God said "i will raise a prophet like you from along your people" In Deut 34:10-13 it is explained what "like you" meant. Some of the prophets after Moses had miracles, but none of them had face to face conversations with God. They received their messages from God only through visions. But Moses spoke to God "face to face"... And who is the other that coverses with God face to face? Jesus. So the overarching purpose was to fulfill a prophecy/promise. So we see, in Christianity, miracles are multifaceted. In Islam? Scientifically mirrors? They serve no purpose. Neither immediately nor future ones. Claiming the quran is scientific is the worst argument ever to defend the quran.

Solomon added carvings of palm trees to the walls of the temple in the Bible. Was Jesus crucified before eating the passover meal or after? The synoptic gospels (Matthew, Mark, and Luke) say that the Last Supper was the Passover meal and that Jesus was crucified after the Passover meal. But in John, the order is reversed: it’s the crucifixion and then the Passover meal. Matthew 26:19-21 clearly says that they ate the passover meal before the crucifixion. John 19:31 clearly says that he was crucified while preparing the passover meal.

The day of preparation in John 19:31 is talking about getting ready for the sabbath during the Passover. Mathew 26:19 is talking about just the fist of the two Seder meals of Passover. Although Christians separate the last supper and Seder. In essence they both equate to the start of new Covenants as it were. The exodus for the Jews and the beginning of the church for Christians. So God reveals His attributes and people get a concept of God through studying His attributes (His 'back'). Obviously, God doesn't have a back as in the back of the neck, the shoulders and the spine. That's obviously not what scripture is saying. So instead of parading around with this "YHWH" argument, implying that just because you utter the word "Yahweh", you are somehow closer to God than others, you should be comparing your concept of God to other people's concepts of God, and test your beliefs that way, and only jump to conclusions after having done that. You can yell "Yahweh - Yahweh" all you want, but if your concept of God is erroneous, then you are not actually a worshiper of The Exalted. When you say that you don't worship Allah, but Yahweh, then you're basically saying you don't worship The God, but you worship the Ever-living, which makes no logical sense to a Muslim. It's like saying you worship The Creator, but not The Lord. And what's this about Sulayman(as)? He was a monotheist, as are we.

The Quran is 100% accurate on embryology. You have to understand the Quran and embryology. The Quran describes the stages on appearance, not function. The Quran mentions the various embryonic stages. The Quran: created human beings from a small quantity of liquid, then placed it in a place of security, then we made it into an Alaqah (Leech like substance), then we made that Alaqah (Leech like substance) into a Mudghah (a chewed lump), then we made the Mudghah (a chewed like lump) into Izam (bones), then clothed the bones with lahm (flesh) then we made it a new creature blessed be God the one to create. Alaqah has 3 meanings a leech like substance, something which clings and clot of congealed blood. All 3 of these words are correct because the embryo looks like a leech, and in the initial stages besides looking like a leech it looks like a congealed clot of blood because in the initial stages of Alaqah the blood is clotted within closed vessels and during the third week of the embryo the blood circulation doesn’t take place it happens later on. Therefore it assumes the appearance of a clot. The embryo also clings to the uterine wall so all three meanings are correct. Embryology tells us that the primordia of the muscles and the bones they form together between the 25th and 40th day which the Quran refers to as the stage of Mudghah, but they aren't developed. Later on, at the end of the 7th week, the embryo takes the form of a human appearance then the bones are formed. The bones are formed after the 42nd day and it gives an appearance of a skeletal thing even at this stage when the bones are formed the muscles aren't formed. Later on after the seventh week and the start of the eighth week are the muscles formed.

Why don't you research before you speak? If your argument is based on God allowing humans free will then you make no sense. Humans took on responsibility for preserving the older books. Our prophet pbuh was concerned that people may alter the message and Allah swt confirmed that he would take it upon himself to preserve the Quran. Now go find two Qurans which differ in the world today - not in dialect or style of recitation. If you can't accept the truth then fine but why express your ignorant views when you can research and become informed?

We know that Islam itself never gave rise to jack. But it was those living under Islamic domination who made the great discoveries. Have you heard his interpretations of the identity of Gog/Magog (it's Western Civilization), D'hul Qarnain (check him out yourself to see if you're interested), etc.?. If not, you should. You may not believe it...but by damn Muslims do. The thing is, his answers sound plausible. Check him out.

But the difference is some parts of that are simply history: what happened not what should have happened. And the Bible doesn't claim to be "direct from God". It is indeed compiled by man. So that can't make it false. But your book claims to be from God and then has more mistakes, so its obviously false. See?
