Drinking alcohol when your cold is a bad idea it makes you feel warm because your blood vessels lossen making you feel warm but it actually just makes you colder
@ashleycook6025Ай бұрын
It's a VERY OLD last resort to prevent limb loss from hypothermia. But, yes, bad idea. During the final stages of hypothermia the blood vessels in the extremities contract to retain heat around vital organs, leading to an increased risk in the loss of those extremities even if they were properly protected from the frostbite before. This can also result in the warm sensation in the core that causes paradoxical undressing. Alcohol causes a dilation of these blood vessels, even after this stage has set in, putting off these risks. However, as you've stated, dilation of the blood vessels WILL cause the body to lose heat faster. So, even when it *was* used, it was in measured amounts by the people rescuing you to jumpstart your recovery and to make you easier to handle as they supplied you with more heat. No corrections. No argument. Just interesting fyi.

@sadpotato338627 күн бұрын
Literally came to say this. I tell people this and they don't believe me but they're always so cold when they drink and I'm burning up. Relaxed blood vessels temporarily make you *feel* warm, while it actually allows for warmth to escape your body. When you perceive the surroundings as cold and shiver, perhaps get goosebumps, then your body knows to constrict your blood vessels and keep the warmth inside. Weed works similarly, too. Alcohol additionally, due to this and it's effects on blood pressure, will make you bleed faster/more than you otherwise would have.

I am not a Muslim but recently I've read a very interesting online discussion regarding soy sauce. Some saw the alcohol produced during the fermentation process as acceptable and others not. Idk about US or other countries in general, but in Poland even if it says 0% alcohol it means "below 0,5%" so you can never be sure it is in fact completely 0. Sometimes they write 0,0% but then the next number also can be anything so 0,09% or 0,01% - you never really know, so if it is for religious reasons I wouldn't drink here any "0%" drinks that normally are alcoholic. 😅 But they are treated as safe for alcoholic or pregnant, but they also normally drink only 1 or 2, so even if there is small alcohol amounts it cannot add up to anything. Don't know what happens if you drink 10 tho. 😅

I think when it comes to rules it's extremely important to know why they were set in place, because some rules are meant to be transgressed. Alcool can help preserve food, desinfectant wounds and can help digestion in some cases. If the reason muslims are not allowed to drink alcool is because they might get drunk, then you can easily understand why they should be allowed to use vanille extract and food dyes that have alcool in it for preservation and making the product blend more easily. Following the rules too precisely and at all cost is not always beneficial.
@gamingwhilebroken2355Ай бұрын
Alcohol in extracts is due to extraction. Alcohol extracts the various flavour compounds in X foodstuff at low temperature and thus doesn’t degrade flavours and aroma. The ones that don’t have alcohol are usually artificial extracts and they are often not as good. The reasoning is that the flavour from a foodstuff, such as vanilla or maple, doesn’t just come from one compound (even when one compound is the predominant substance responsible for the flavour) and that often makes the extracts taste flatter

Just like non-muslims can read the Quran, don't worry its not offensive and you can say it. Also us muslims usually use Yahamukallah when someone sneezes and the person who sneezed then says yahadikumullah, its basically giving the same meaning as bless you but mentioning Allah(God)

I think that would also depend on the individual and line of thought they have. @starxaureliaАй бұрын
doesn't matter, alcohol is still haram even if it is a little amount.
@BriarRose-DupontАй бұрын
@starxaurelia again, that depends on the scholar that someone follows.
