It's because Islam is the continuation of what came before. From Abraham, Moses and Jesus Peace be upon them, Muhammad PBUH is a direct descendant of the prophet Abraham and is mentioned in both the Torah and the bible. Read the Quran with an open heart, and you will find that it is the only holy book the honours Jesus and Mary peace be upon them yet makes a clear distinction that it is strictly monotheist. Learn about the mathematical and scientific miracles of quran and you will realise it is not written from a man and the information it knows for e.g. the bible called the rulers of Egypt pharaoh at the time of Joseph, however the quran calls them kings at the time of the prophet joseph and centuries later with the finding of the rosetta stone archaeologists have discovered at the time of the prophet Joseph the rulers of Egypt were called kings and not Pharaohs until much later. How can an unlettered man know to say kings when the bible says Pharaoh unless he is true prophet and messenger of God. Study Islam, and you will find it follows the life of Jesus more than anyone else. Ask yourself why nuns cover their heads and the pope prays with his face on the ground? Then look at Islam, whose men and women cover their bodies and pray with their faces on the ground in the direction of the house of God created by Abraham Peace be upon him.

@@vibz8346 To be completely honest, I have absolutely no issue with Islam & the belief mechanisms involved. I like the simplicity, general humbleness & lack of iconography on display( something I think Catholicism could learn from).I am no longer a practising Catholic but try to live by The Ten Commandments( mainly succeeding!). There is nothing stopping me, only my commitment to faith I suppose. I still entertain the notion of God & wish everybody peace & goodwill, regardless of faith & hope it leads them towards a fulfilling relationship with God.

I wonder why quran teachings has got similarities as they say with other religions yet it is unique. Because it is to attract people of books of that time I.e.torah and gospel but after that there are things are different to prove it to unique. No torch or gospel is part of quran...yet bible has got old testament and new testament which is torch and gospel. If other books are wrong and Muslims are bound to accept and believe both torah and gospel then big questions arise about their faith...if they deny to accept both books then both books differs than the quran teachings.
