Regarding the Temple of Solomon and the verse the Abdul quoted (1 Kings 8:29), if one were to go to an earlier part of the chapter, it says that the temple is meant for the LORD to dwell in, meant for his Name, showing that it is already not the same as the Kaaba in terms of its theological significance, for according to the Quran, in Surah 2:125-128, the Kaaba is simply a house of worship and a sanctuary, not a place where the divine and his Name is meant to dwell. As such, Muslims should not be comparing the 2, for the Kaaba is not meant to the Temple of Solomon, it is meant to be an Islamic basilica or cathedral. At the start of the next chapter, Yahweh himself appears to Solomon to consecrate the Temple, by putting his Name there forever and having his Eyes and Heart be ever present there. Again, showing that it is not merely just a house for worship like the Kaaba. The Jews of Solomon's time prayed towards the Temple because it is literally a place where the divine is present in part or whole, they are not praying to a random building meant for worship, they are LITERALLY praying towards the divine. Unlike Muslims and the Kaaba, this apologist here is comparing apples to oranges and making a false equivalence fallacy. The Kaaba is not equivalent to the Temple, period. What is worst is that literally in the 2 verses before verse 29 of chapter 8, Solomon laments that his Temple is still considered insignificant and inadequate to be the divine's dwelling place, meaning that it is meant to contain the divine and be in the very least a place of divine presence, when Jews during his time prayed towards it, they were praying to that divine presence so that the divine can hear their prayers, not praying towards the building for whatever reason.
