Muslin sarees are made from cotton threads of counts more than 100. During British period, muslin sarees were manufactured in Kalna (Burdwan Dist.) of West Bengal. British used to export muslin from India to England. Pure muslin sarees are very costly. Usually, one pure muslin saree takes around 4 - 6 months time for making by handloom and may cost more than Rs. 50,000. Due to high price, availability of muslin sarees are very limited.
