I'll be the one to say it. Next Halloween, watch disneys fantasias night on bald mountain. Hate it or love, the first fantasia planted the seeds of classical music appreciation in my mind.

I look forward to seeing it 😊✌️

I first heard this in my kindergarten in music class. It was played overtop some spooky cartoons for Halloween. Seems like most of my classical introductions were with cartoons when i was little.

Oh yeah 😎? Looking for this last Halloween. Found a delightful concert by Wayne Marshall who is the guest Brit conductor for the National Orchestra of Ile de France in Paris. Wayne Marshall is both Conductor and plays piano in other concerts. Wayne Marshall in Europe is considered a "Living Legend on the Pipe Organ ". Night on Bald Mountain is part of Disney's cartoon "Fantasia" from about 1940. This dark cartoon version is much Too SCARY for children. But check-out the one act ballet: "Witches Sabbath" about 40 minutes long , the last 10 minutes is "Night on Bald Mountain". For children let them see the ballet rehearsals called: repetitsia (repeating) in Russian (where the ballet dancers practice in street clothes). Think Wayne Marshall is in London performing and conducting. Do check him out on the piano. Definitely lots of FUN! "Witches Sabbath" is performed by The Igor Moiseyev Ballet. Wayne Marshall performed "Tocata and Fugue in D Minor by Bach" at Christ Church in Victoria, British Columbia (Canada).

This piece is featured on the original Disney’s fantasia. In the segment the demon Chernabog lives in the bold mountain and summons souls from the neighboring village. Since I watched that as a kid it’s the only thing I can imagine whenever I hear this piece. It’s quite genius and terrifying.

1:36 I get what you're saying, but what you really mean is orchestral music is loud and grand. Classical music can also be small and intimate and silent, for example in chamber music. I suggest checking out Mendelssohn's Piano Trio n.2 to hear the clear difference

Thanks I appreciate the suggestions I look forward to seeing what you mean 😊✌️and yes your 100% correct about the orchestral music.

@@themightyfp Now that i look back at my comment I see it may not be that clear, if you dont precisely know the terminology of the genre, I'm sorry😄😄 what I meant is, what we refer to as classical music is such a broad generic term, and it contains so many different genres and styles and philosophies of composition, that in it you can find both the great loud noisy orchestral works (played by a whole orchestra), the more quiet and intimate chamber pieces (from the french 'chambre', meaning 'room' music) for only 2 to 10 instruments (rarely more), or solo pieces for one single instrument. Im trying ny best not to sound pedant here ahahahaha

😊 ahhhh I see. I didn’t realize classical was Broad and had I guess “sub-genres”? 🤷♂️ but I guess it makes sense for it to have many branches of styles. Not sure I’m making sense. But again thanks for the help.
@fedegwagwa Жыл бұрын
@@themightyfp You are making absolute sense because it's exactly like that!! A genre with over 7 centuries of history can only have hundreds of subgenres and styles. Not to mention, most composers had their own personal unique styles that can be more or less easy to recognize, and I think I could name a good thousand "classical" composers, there really is that many. Keep it coming bro🤙🤙

Take a look at Borodin's Third Symphony, one of the most complex tonal tones ever composed.

What this is about is there is a mountain in Russia called bald mountain, and there’s a legend that every Halloween the devil appears there.

You don't see the Witches and Warlocks dancing on top of a Bald Mountain??? You don't hear the Square Dance Calls of "Allemand Left" and "Doe sie doe"???
