Great tip, thanks for making the video and sharing. I have had my neo and rcn 3 controller for about 3 weeks. Changed my settings immediately after watching . Since it was nighttime... I tested it inside my home(which I had used the controller with the standard settings inside). I could tell an immediate difference, made the drone much easier to navigate. I will definitely be give it a spin on the outside tomorrow 👍👍👍👍👍

Hi! Let’s hope everyone doing so will never ever have the desire to fly anything else than a DJI drone in slow and stabilized mode. I fly anything that flies, helicopters, FPV quadcopters, different airplanes … if you want to know how to fly, if you want to fly fast, improve your skills, if you want to fly different stuffs, changing the commands of the sticks doesn’t seems to be a good advice… Choose your mode (there’s 4), stick to it, and get used to it. The mode 2 is the more polyvalent and the most used across the world and across the different platforms. Anyways, have fun 😎😎😎

If you've been flying drones for a while and comfortable with the controls then you shouldn't change but if you are new to flying drones and have difficulty with the controls then by all means try this way and see if it is easier, your choice. Thanks for your input. Cheers

This was a great tip. I found it easier with the controller, BUT when you return to using the smartphone in manual mode, the on screen 'pseudo-joystics' revert to the default modes. So switching between the two methods requires different actions. That's a shame and a disadvantage?
@pictureworldphotography

Yeah it is a shame that you can't re-program the controls when only using your smartphone, maybe that's something that DJI could put in a future update. Cheers.

Planning to get the neo but I see some issues reported that its going crazy, flying away, and sometimes going out of control is this already fixed? or did you experience this too?
@pictureworldphotography
@pictureworldphotography 12 күн бұрын
If you use the Neo with RC-N3 controller then you shouldn't have any issues with fly-aways as the connection is excellent, connection via using just your smartphone is limited because of the WiFi only connection. I haven't had much practice with it lately because of weather and work commitments but with the controller it works just fine. Cheers.
@patrik720

it goes crazy when it hovers on auto mode over water. The Neo uses sensors to calculate its distance to the ground, as these signals do not rebound well over water bodies, it basically stops to avoid going any further over the water. If this happens, turn on manual control on, and hover it back. no biggies but be weary when flying over water, ice or snow. The Neo is a marvelous drone for its price, great value for money.
@pictureworldphotography
@pictureworldphotography 9 күн бұрын
@@patrik720 I've not yet taken it out over water but have seen a video on that scenario and they said to make sure that you have about 20 satellites for tracking and that should keep it in stable flight although I'd still be a little reluctant to fly over water unless it was absolutely necessary. Yes it is a great value drone. Cheers.

Never use a cellphone as your drone controller unless you’re in an open field. If the connection between your cellphone and the drone is lost, you won’t be able to recover or bring the drone back. This is especially risky if the drone is flying over water, cliffs, or tall trees. Without a connection, the drone will hover in place until its battery runs out, increasing the chances of losing it entirely.

Why would you tell people to change their stick movements that would cause more confusion, even you just got confused trying a figure of 8 when trying to fly it 😂😂 it's set like that for a reason it's best for cinematic shots and easy for beginners it's like that for almost every drone for a reason

Well I'm still learning to fly this drone and I find it way easier to control with the joysticks this way and so do many others in the comment section. If the joysticks were meant to stay the way they send them from the factory then why do they let you change them in the settings page??? Everyone is different and this is meant for beginners who haven't flown a drone before, you are entitled to your opinion on this and the default obviously works for you so don't change them, I'm not telling everyone to change to this setting, just informing them that they have a choice. I would say there is no such thing as an expert in drones. They still crashed them..and all had to start at the bottom. I have seen a few so called experts struggling, yet this man found one way of making it easier for himself. And decided to pass it on to others. He has also proved that an old dog no offence I am probably close to his age. That they can learn new tricks. And that the younger generation actually can learn from the older generations. He finds it easier, and I bet many others will find it easier. And as he said in the end. As he learns, yes he is learning and the more he plays the better he can be. By the way he is better than I and many others younger who have never tried to do this.

By doing this your not learning fly the right way and you have less control doing that you are not getting the mussel memory you need to have for better control people i have been flying drones for over ten years now and this is a recipe for disaster when you start to fly further away from yourself and the wind picks up learn using both stick for god sakes that why they are two sticks.
@pictureworldphotography
@pictureworldphotography Ай бұрын
I am using both control sticks but I find it easier to control both forward/reverse and turn left/right via the 1 joystick. The left joystick I have programmed for up/down and move sideways. Each to their own, I find it easier this way but like I said I use both sticks just not all the time. Besides if the default way is the best and only way to fly a drone, then why do they give you the option of changing them??? Let people choose the best way to fly the drone themselves, I'm not telling them they should fly it this way, I'm letting people know there is an alternate way to use the joysticks. Thanks for your comment though, it's good to hear from drone pilots. Cheers.

@@pictureworldphotography It's a waste of time to explain. Some people don't understand that not everyone has manual skills, the desire, time and inclination to learn the "only correct flying style". Perhaps in more professional applications, in some freestyle or FPV racing, this basic method of flying brings some benefits, but if someone wants to fly recreationally, let them do it in the way that is most comfortable for them. Personally, as a new person in this hobby, I will rather try to learn to fly the "correct" style, but I appreciate the video because this type of setting is indeed much more intuitive and easier to master, especially for people who are just starting out. Let's let people decide, especially since the manufacturer provides such an option.
