Thanks for posting for Thanksgiving, we’re celebrating tomorrow because my sister, a nurse, has to work, and you’re a bright spot today! I went into Banana Republic yesterday to get a button loop fixed, which the tailor kindly did on the spot. But, I was in there long enough to get a beautiful red 100% wool coat with a breathable lining! It’s normally $400, but I got it for $210 with the 40% off and a discount voucher, it made buying a bright color like this more affordable. My other winter coats are neutrals, but it’s fun to have one colored one, if one’s basic neutrals are already covered, and if not too expensive. It has to be 100% natural-fiber with a breathable lining, though, I can’t compromise on that. When you young ladies get to your 50s, you will understand, your body can’t properly regulate its temperature any more and breathability becomes the single most important factor is selecting apparel. Age 63, San Francisco. You give great advice for women of all ages, keep up the great work❤

I love BR’s Luna cashmere Polo sweater, it’s the perfect style for me with an open V-neckline, collar and above all, it’s short, which, as a petite, I really love. They even have petites in most colors, I got several colors, ok, most of them! (No gray or black, which I don’t like on pale me much). I’ve been searching for this classic style for years, hoping they would come back! These are lovely quality, too, and not outrageous at $200, and 40% off in this sale. I got the new berry color, which looks fab with my new D&G silk scarf in a berry and red baroque design on white, it’s gorgeous, I couldn’t resist it. I also got BR’s beautiful ivory ribbed cashmere turtleneck, again, it’s on the short side. $270 usually, but $140 with the sale! It’s always easier to get discounts around Black Friday than early in the autumn season, but there is a risk that sizes and colors will sell out. I did pay full price for two Club Monaco sweaters earlier this season, but sure enough, they were long gone weeks before this sale time, so it was worth it. I bought a whole new wardrobe this year because of years of weight loss from aging, I don’t usually buy so much!

Mariana, could you do a video on winter clothes for work-from-home people? I live in Milan too, but I work from home so I can't rationalize wearing my nice cashmere or linen pants every day at home since the washing/ironing process is so tedious. That being said, I don't want to dress in sweats every day since I have the occasional grocery store trip/grab colazione at the bar/in-laws stopping by to drop something off. I don't want to do the full styled outfit + jewelry, but I feel like without the little touches, all my casual clothes look so scrubby. Help!

I love my Captain’s Blazer in the Midnight Blue wool, but it really is overall gray. The blue thread is barely visible, except up close. It is a double-breasted style, but has the beautiful slim, classic fit of a single-breasted blazer. I have several of these in cotton or wool. I wore the Midnight Blue only yesterday! Theory’s Carissa wool blazer is lovely, too, and on sale. No oversized, baggy blazers for me!

I like this idea, too, for a different reason. Most of the time when an Influencer shows an item that I love enough to buy, it’s already sold out. By the time she orders, receives, and posts a video about it, it’s long gone. The alternatives are never satisfactory, at least I’ve never bought one through a link. A lot of fashion is on such a fast cycle these days, the best High Street brand items sell fast. It’s better with the Premium High Street (PHS) price point where I shop, brands like: Banana Republic, Lily Silk, Theory, Equipment, Daisy Silk, Quince and Goelia (only their natural-fiber items). Sezane, also a PHS brand, does dell put incredibly fast, though. Recommended alternatives are often synthetic fiber, too, which I won’t buy. I don’t bother with influencers that don’t mention the fiber content, it just takes to l g to go to every link and look for it. BR has been gobbling up most of my wardrobe budget this year, because they often, not always, use natural fiber fabrics. I was so disappointed to see all those polyester satin pieces for their holiday offerings this year.
