At $150/night, KOA should send a concierge over to each rig. To fill and empty the tanks, wash the windshield, check the tire pressure, and put a Belgian chocolate on each pillow.

I will say this the number one harvest host is in Florida it's a lavender farm with that man has done for his guest is unbelievable he's got chickens to lay fresh eggs for you they're for free he's got hookups for free bathrooms with showers and washer and dryers for free and he doesn't make you leave after one night a very gracious veteran the man is the sweetest thing on earth

My husband and I are full timers since Nov. 2021, and we have been watching your channel for years, preparing for our "launch" into full-time. We are retired and in a class A diesel pusher. We have found it really helps to stay in Corp of Engineers campgrounds and National Forest campgrounds to keep our costs down. We also have the Seniors Pass/America the Beautiful Pass for discounts. We are now in an Army Corp of Engineers park in Texas. It is free with a 14 day stay limit, on a beautiful lake outside of Waco, TX. This helps us offset the costs of staying in private campgrounds. Thanks for the refresher about memberships, Eric, and best wishes with your new Tioga!

Passport America has been mainly useless because the campgrounds never honor the discounts in-season, on weekends, holidays and usually limit to one or two days. The one I have found the most useful is Escapees...except there aren't many of them

Eric, regarding KOA. Check out KOA Journey. There are usually close to Interstates and are meant for overnighters or just a few days. Don't have many benefits and are usually cheaper. We just sold our Thousand Trails membership and lost our shorts on it. Escapees is great, we are based in Bushnell, FL which is their Florida Domicile.

Thanks for the info. A couple years ago we were traveling through Carlsbad, NM. We stopped at a KOA and it was around $62 and some change a night. We choose to stay two nights. They had a BBQ dinner, and they delivered the meals to our site. The guy on the golf cart noticed my Retired Military decal on my window. He asked if we were members and I said we weren't , he told us to not join, because they gave military a 10% discount. I told him that I would remember that. I guess he went back to the office and told the front desk people, because I noticed a credit on my card in the amount that equaled to 10% of my other charges. I thought that was pretty cool. But mainly I felt secure there, to leave the campground and take in the caverns the next day. Of all our places, they were the most expensive, but they do have the programs for families. By the way, when in Pigeon Forge, TN, we stay at Claboughs Campground. Now, around $70 for a nice concrete pad and full hookups. Nice for a tourist location. Thanks for sharing!

The few establishments we’ve used Passport America, only the 1st night was honored for the half price. Good Sam’s 10% discount has been accepted for the entire stay and the $0.05 fuel discount adds up to significant savings. Most places provide a senior’s and military discounts.

Great info for newbies and those on strict budgets. Thank you very much. Oh one thing some of you might want to consider is having cash on hand (enough to fill your tanks and possibly for food if there is a bad weather event when phone and internet aren't working) but keep it in smaller denominations scattered around your vehicle or RV in your hiding spots. I have had that happened to me. I was lucky that I had been to a few yard sales a couple weeks before I ended up in a cash only situation for fuel. Just a thought

We’ve used several of these memberships but KOA, yes expensive but if your staying in an area and visiting a destination they have great amenities. We stayed at a KOA in West Yellowstone last summer using it to visit the park. It was really nice. Great store and restaurant. The only complaints I had was 1) it was expensive and 2) I was three feet from my neighbors sewer hose. Very common in many campgrounds these days.

I used to work at a PA KOA. The fee was per year and I think there was some kind of reward you earned. Basically for most people it was "free" after it took the discount off. Some people traveled from KOA to KOA. It should usually be a safe, clean place to be. It is certainly overwhelmed with amenities and activities. I was the activities director and started at 9am and could work till 10pm or later depending on the season. I hope one day to try Harvest Host when I am mobile. Thank you Eric. I just sent this to a friend planning a big trip. I also wanted to mention urinary blockage in cats. I NEVER had a problem till I got my orange cat brothers. It is highly deadly. Very expensive to treat. And it comes on pretty quick. It is apparently very common. I wish I could tell everyone so they were ready for it. The first time I got the car to the vet he was hours from death. It was within 24 hours of me thinking maybe something was off. It was scary and no one should have to deal with it at that stage. I hope the info helps someone. Go look it up and be aware. 🙏💜😺

Eric; just a suggestion for your repair of your new RV, consider replacing the countertops in the kitchen, bathroom, and maybe even the dinette? Camping World can custom cut an counter top based on the dimensions of the RV year. It's costly; I admit, but you could get an underrmounted sink in the kitchen and bathroom. Something to consider?

Big price difference this one I’m currently at daily rate is $48 with KOA rewards card (yearly) will be $43.20 Colorado Springs/Fountain Colorado pricing was very very much higher, keep in mind destination tourist areas will jack their price up much more than a regular Koa Not to mention Koa has regular koa journey and holiday Some Loves have already started to add Rv sites to their stores at least in Texas 🤷🏽‍♀️

My wife and i went to TT in 2008 after we bought our first camper, set through the high pressure sales pitch.i think they were pushing something like 20k membership. Nope, not going to happen. They were rude after we told them no.

FYI, they don't do those kinds of sales anymore and everything is negotiable.

There are many junky RV’s in all the TT campgrounds-most of the TT campgrounds are dumps -unless you are in Southern Florida or Southern California-The Encores aren’t that nice either 🚌🇺🇸

I wouldn't know... I paid for the trails collection, but you have to be 55 or older to use it. They knew my age at sign up... They could have let me know.... I don't have a lot of public love for TT and how they rob their members.

I remember when I was a kid my parents and I we went to Yellowstone I think of course they didn't do any research just headed up there this in the early 1970s. All the campsites in Yellowstone were full we ended up in a packed KOA camp ground it was okay but so many people there. Lot of flies because the trash cans were overflowing it wasn't a great vacation.
