Soundradix Auto Align Post 2 is absolutely fantastic! +1 for Accentize DXRevive Pro, it's a lifesaver. RX of course. Pro Audio DSP DSM3 is brilliant for super transparent expansion/gating. Also great compressor and shaper. iZotope Neutron 4 is a powerhouse on dialogue. Youlean Loudness Meter is great and has a rainbow colour scheme so it automatically becomes a winner! Meldaproduction MAutovolume with conservative settings to even out the levels a bit on each track before hitting the chain. Baby Audio Smooth Operator for a bit of spectral sc/ducking on music and FX sixes to taste (route to main mix only so the seps are clean) My 2 cents :) Notable mention to Voxengo TEOTE for adaptive EQ/shaping. It's intended for music mastering but is also great on dialogue.

Forgot about Voxengo Soniformer, also great in inverse mode for expander. Not the easiest of plugins but very powerful.

Avid Pro plugins for the win, RX11, liquid sonic. Fabfilter and cargo cult are your friends. Acon digital for dx, Nugen for loudness. Thank you for the video, so cool.

Avid Pro Compressor and Limiter, Fabfilter EQ, Fabfilter DS, Acon Extract:Dialogue, Slapper, Stratus 3D, and VisLM..... That's the super-combo for me, makes up like 90%+ of my template these days.

I really like the McDSP SA2 on the dialogue bus for DeEssing. The newer SA3 is also great for midrange resonance stuff. Especially with a fast attack it can grab those kinda chirpy mid-frequency sounds in a way I haven't really been able to get Soothe to do.

Hey Chris! Thanks for continuing the dialogue here. Great additions to the list. The McDSP stuff is great! I have yet to hear the SA3. Looking forward to checking it out. Thank you for taking time to stop by and check out the video.

Thanks for sharing this! I've been hearing about dxRevive Pro a lot for dialogue editing. Looking forward to applying that in my next project.

yes yes! Lots of folks are talking about that one. I know too many out there to leave out, but I do not have much experience with that one so I left it off my list. Thanks for adding that to the conversation!

Nugen VisLM for loudness measurement. You think FAB plugins worth it? Never used, i use waves a lot.

Mané pro tools... Vamos de Reaper mesmo.

"- Pro Tools are industry standard." Well, who cares about industry standars regarding daws? Not me, wav files or other files works in every daw and Pro tools is just a too expensive daw. I have colleagues who use Cubase, Logic and whatever. It works fine to send files between us and cooperate. I use Reaper.😊

I believe, ProTools was more of an industry-standard in the 1990s and 2010s because it was probably the best back then and was in most major studios. Times have changed.
@Enjelss3 ай бұрын
I hate pro tools for price politics, but its a real problem when you want to get work in big company or studios, so yeah unfortunately pro tools is a standard if you want to keep growing. By the way, i maybe first men who changed reaper on pro tools, because no one care how you mixing or editing if you cant export your projects to each other without problems

actually they have a 3 month deal for .99 cents right now, i highly recommend, or 100 for a year

Looks like there are some good deals right now over there at UA. Cool stuff if you know them and are into them. I feel like a lot of my colleagues who mix TV and Film shy away from UA. Personally know one guy who wears by the UA plugins. Love that there are many options out there for all of us.

Definitely could be in the list of must haves especially for editors…I went with what I use as a sound re-recording mixer and since I do not spend anytime cutting dx it simply slipped my mind. But a MAJOR must have for dx editors FOR SURE! Thanks for adding to the conversation and for checking out the video.

Nuendo is better than pro tools .. how can you limit people to just pro tools insane .. Audio is audio
@masteringpostproductionsound3 ай бұрын
Hey thanks for watching and commenting. No tools is “better” than others, they are in fact all tools, this we can agree on. However Pro Tools is hands down the industry standard when it comes to mixing sound for film and tv. If you delivered a Nuendo project for to a mix stage at the highest level of mixing sound for film & tv you would in fact be rejected as Pro Tools is what would be required. Burundi is a fantastic DAW that is very much a standard when creating music. And I would agree: Audio is audio, but when mixing, editing sound or creating sound design and delivering for the highest level in Hollywood, we will always prefer and require Pro Tools. Thanks for checking it out.

@@masteringpostproductionsound I get that is how you work .. I have been mixing for film and TV for the past 10 years in Neundo and I have had to collaborate with other Engineers who use pro tools and I do it just fine .. it is just a different work flow we get the same result... and its just how you come across like whoop its the standard .. Don't bother if you don't have it pro tools .. you put something down without even knowing what it is or how it works .. Where you come from it might be the case but its not the same for everyone
@asmundma4 ай бұрын
Industry standard, maybe yes. But is it the best? No, Nuendo is far better, both Spectral-layers and Acon Digital can compete with RX.
@masteringpostproductionsound4 ай бұрын
Hey there! Thanks for taking time to watch and to comment. For post sound mixing film and tv, it’s a fact. Not gonna find Nuendo the DAW of choice on the mixing stages at Sony, Warner Bros, Formosa or any other big Hollywood mixing stage. But again, I mixing sound for film and tv, NOT music. Nuendo is a great daw for Music, heck some use it for sound design too, just not the industry I work in. Grateful for the conversation. Have a great weekend.
