Just so you know, there are people even from Brazil watching you and being inspired to improve. I work with several companies making commercials, such as Netflix, Ifood, banks, etc.. doing mixing, soundtracks, sound design... I hope to one day reach your level of expertise, grow even further and maybe be one of the big guys haha

Wow! It’s an honor to have you here even if it is for just a few minutes. Grateful for you and for taking the time to share and comment. Blessings from LA!

Totally agree with all of this! Marketing and community aside, back when I did a trial run of social media for my senior project one of the biggest benefits was a drastic increase in my own learning. Rubber ducky method. When learning something, if you cant teach it and teach it well then you dont really know it! Posting tips and videos on socials helped me know my own weaknesses in post audio. Working towards gearing up on socials again. Just gotta make the time to get back at it 😊 Thanks for the reminder and motivation! I needed this 🎉

Inspiring words Joel! When you really break it down, it’s a win win. Win 1 = help others Win 2 = help yourself That’s it…gonna start brainstorming on creating a new sound design channel 👍

This goes for all social media in general (including LinkedIn). KZbin is just one place. Ideally you should be on all the major platforms.

Yes, you are correct. Definitely not the first time I have shared about socials on the channel. I wanted to be specific about KZbin being that these days I am seeing the benefit from many other of being on here. Simply the fact that it is the 2nd largest search engine is huge. But we are definitely on the same wavelength. Would I use EVERY social? No. Real talk, I'd focus on the ones you can consistently show up on. I used to do a lot of TikTok, but honestly, I didn't like it. It may work for other people though, so I decided to focus on LinkedIn, KZbin, and IG. Always appreciate your input and thank you for taking time to check it out.

Excellent points all around! I've been floating around KZbin since the early 2010s and during college I thought I'd be doing big post production sound jobs for a career. I'll be going on 30 come next February, and only in the last few years have I started taking my online presence a little more seriously. I'd done some video editing as fun passion projects in addition to my regular day job as an editor, but recently I've begun exploring more post production audio projects as a way to relearn the craft and build a new network. I am currently doing SFX editing for an original science fiction radio drama that I produced over the summer. I am aiming to release it on KZbin along with a potential website for my services as a social media post production editor.

Hi, Joel. I recently found your KZbin channel. It's tremendous and amazing! And it helps me a lot while I am doing my projects. I will soon be a master's student studying sound design in the UK. Although I don't have much professional sound knowledge yet, I still want to record my learning journey in the sound field. Not only can this help me record my experiences, but it can also let more people notice the sound in film. I also want to create the channel in Mandarin, as there are hardly any channels discussing sound in Mandarin. However, I have a bit of concern. I'm afraid I might not be professional enough to create this kind of content. And my shooting machine is just my phone and iPad. So, what is your advice on doing this kind of content? Should I do this or not? Thank you for your time. Lurv

You should absolutely start it! And trust me, we THINK it needs to look good and professional, but I am serious, just get started. No on is going to care what your first videos are going to look like. What you will be starting is getting your reps in. You will improve over time and they will get better and better and then one day you can upgrade your tech. I think a vlog style channel documenting your journey to chase your dream as a profession sound artist would be a fantastic channel! If you start a channel let me know so I can be one of your first subscribers! Sure it may be in mandarin, and I would not be able to understand it, but I can support you that way. Best of luck! Make sure you go and subscribe to my emailing and download my guide, “The Insiders Guide to Navigating the Post-Production Sound Industry.” Thanks for stopping by and for sharing!

Thank you for replying me so deeply. I already subscribed email and DL the guide. I would start to plan what content I can make recently, and I will accept your advice, too. And Yesss, the vlog style seems more appropriate to me. If I start my channel, I will let you know. Thanks again.❤❤ Lurv
