My Z06 engine was done by previous owner she is 650hp I guess he did this when he took the engine down. Thanks again you are the best I always go to you when I have any questions about my Z06 baby

When installing the remote bleeeder line use caution and locate/tie it back so there is no chance of it contacting the left side header. We can't afford to have any more catch fire.

Anyone know what causes a clunk/click when going from gear to neutral and letting out the clutch pedal? It only does it going into neutral. I am guessing linkage but don't know.

pls also add in the alignment tool for the rear main seal. Ive got a set from SAAC CIty Corvette. Lyle, you should carry their tools to sell with that rear main seal. Thanks for the videos
@csvette2 жыл бұрын
Chris, our rear main seal plates come with the plastic alignment plate in the seal already--The unit in the video has had it removed already. Is this the tool you are talking about? Lyle

I had to do the plate in my 2010 Camaro with the LS3 due to a leak at only 20k. Now I also have a 2013 C6 with the LS3 and everything needs to come out to do some trani repairs, I have a vibration coming back through the shifter when under load in fifth gear. I've already got the bleeder line purchased, I guess I better do the plate even though it's super low mileage, under 17k miles. I'll also be looking at replacing the clutch and slave/throw-out assembly as well because I'm hearing an occasional noise when depressing the clutch pedal. Somebody must have went nuts in this car before I bought it.
@rrf67472 жыл бұрын
With only 17,000 miles how nuts can you get ?

On your camero did you use the plate that Lyle sells ? Did it solve the problem?
@kfh12 жыл бұрын
@@rrf6747 I bought the Camaro as a Gm Certified Pre-owned Vehicle, and GM replaced it under warranty, so it's a GM plate. I don't know if it was an upgraded version or not, I wasn't aware about the issue with the plates at that time, but I was told that there was a service bulletin on the problem. So far after 12k and 4 1/2 years I have no new leaks. As far as the Vette goes, I have no answers. Again the car was used and according to CarFax it had 8 previous owners, 5 dealerships and 3 private owners, so it got passed around a lot. I made the mistake of buying it without a test drive, the dealership I purchased it from doesn't allow test drives, if you can believe that. The Vette looks like it's brand new, so I wasn't expecting this type of problem with such low mileage, and I really wanted it badly. I've already replaced the harmonic balancer as well.

@@kfh1 wow Iv had my 2012 Corvette for 5yrs so your post scared me lol. I haven't so far experienced any of the promblems you mentioned got 42,000 miles hope you get it sorted out. That was my biggest worry when I bought my vette that it would become a headache. I also bought mine through a dealership

Great tips, if you already have a tick clutch master cylinder in there with a bleeder line connected to it, do you still need a bleeder line from the slave cylinder?
@csvette2 жыл бұрын
That is a great question! I don't know if the bleeder on the Tick unit allows bleeding of the whole system or just the master, but I will find out! Lyle

You only carry the plate for c5,6 not C7 on your website. Why? Are C7 plates not prone to leaking? Thanks
@dennishoward67242 жыл бұрын
Hey Lyle can you make a C5 video on mileage. Is high mileage a good thing or bad thing when buying your first C5. Do you know how many miles you can get out of a LS1 motor? I seen a C5 Corvette with a 180,000 miles for $10,000.

My clutch pedal is staying down sometimes. It works off and on. What are your thoughts?
@csvette5 ай бұрын
Clutch master cylinder is failing internally. Replace it, and you shouldn't have any more issues...unless you are seeing drops of clutch fluid on the ground...that would be a more serious issue. Lyle

Out of curiosity how hard would it be to turn an auto into a manual.
@csvette2 жыл бұрын
Mechanically, it would be fairly straight-forward: Change the trans, diff and torque tube; add clutch pedal assembly and all of the associated hydraulics. The real issue is cost, because by the time you buy everything and have it installed, you could pretty much afford to buy another C5 that already has the manual. Lyle

I did the clutch and your rear main myself on jacks and the seal is leaking a little because I probably torqued it ever so slightly wrong… oh well live and learn but definitely not doing a clutch job myself ever again at least anytime soon. I also forgot to put a bleeder line on the new slave as well it was a disaster project 😂 but hey at least it still drives

Hey Lyle. Watch you every week. I have a question. Coming home from work today I’m driving along listening to the radio when the radio completely shut off. Then I noticed none of my instrument gauges are working either or my power windows. The car did stay running and I got home. When I got home I shut the car off for about 5 min. Turned the key on and the instruments did their sweep. The car started and the gauges worked. Just wondering if this is a common problem or this could be serious. Appreciate any input. Thanks Lyle.
