Must Have Workwear Pants (Carhartt Carpenter, Dickies 874, Wrangler Cargo)

Walmart Dickies are a lower quality compared to the 874 and other "mainline" Dickies (Similar to Levis 'Signature' that is available at Walmart being lower quality than other mainline Levis denim). The fit is pretty well the same, but the stitching and the weight is not as good. Imo, it is worth it to spend the extra $15ish for non-Walmart Dickies.

As of October 2021, my local Walmart is carrying Dickies 874 for $21.97, Dickies carpenter for $26.97, Dickies Technician pants for $26.97, and Wrangler Ranger pants for $32.97. The Ranger pants are surprisingly heavy. Will definitely need a belt and perhaps suspenders. I mean they are HEAVY. Great video. Thanks and be well.

im curious on what inseam you get the pants or if you go to a tailor. im also 5’6 but a lot of the time theres stacking on the pants and never really a perfect fit unless i cuff them. but great video :>>

In most cases I do not get them altered and like yourself there’s stacking on the pants I get. I just try to fold the ends of the pants or let them stack on the shoe. I am not too sure about the inseam but in most cases, I get pants with a length of 30 inches

I’d say they’re a little snug I normally wear a size 30 or 31 but I bought my pairs at a size 32. I could have gone a size 31 too but I chose 32 because since they’re vintage they might have shrunk over the years of being worn. Hope this helps!

Dickies sold at Walmart are essentially a fake version. They have similar style but the quality and the materials used in the Walmart ones pare not as durable and don’t feel as great either. IMO invest in the 574’s or the double-front’s that are sold on the Dickie’s website. Love the brown ones a ton too 🙏

Appreciate the great video but I'm afraid I've no chance of picking up any of the quality work trousers that you show here as I'm in the UK and it seems like a third world country as far as clothing retail is concerned.. I've already bought so called 'Dickies 874' a few others & several different Carhartt variants from Amazon, Ebay, several other large clothing retailers and the quality is simply atrocious (fakes.. if such a thing exists?) the material is extremely flimsy, with the stiching literally falling apart in a very short space of time. I Would love to get myself several pairs of different pants this Winter but just can't afford to waste any more money, if anyone here in the UK can show me where to pick up some genuine variants of the trousers mentioned I'd be forever in your debt!.. thanks for listening.
