Going to Japan this spring for the first time. I know tons of japanese phrases and more or less how to use them, but they're all swirling around in my head and I'm having a hard time getting the right ones out from my head at the right time. I might just take a introductory japanese class. Anime and youtube can only take you so far. And being able to read a little bit would be helpful.
@reinascully9 жыл бұрын
You'll have an easier time than you think- especially in cities. Most directional signs are in English and most people can speak a tiny bit of English. But learning Japanese from a real Japanese person in a classroom setting or tutoring setting works best :) best of luck!!! Hope you have the best time in Japan!

@benjola29 жыл бұрын
+undertakersbff〈3 I'm pretty sure of the phrasing here but not sure how to describe how to pronounce the phrases so take that with a grain of salt. (source 4th year college level Japanese) sumimasen, toire- wa doko ni arimasu ka = excuse me, where is the bathroom? The to in toire is a long "o" kind of like oh (with a "t" sound in front) the "i" is more like a hard "e" and "re" is kind of like ray. So the whole thing together is sue-me-mah-sen toh-e-ray wa doko (both "o's" are pronounced the same as the "o" in toire) ni= knee arimasuka= ah-ri-mah-su-ka. watashi wa totemo shiawase desu = I am very happy (you might want to use boku if you are a guy) Again pronunciation = wah-tah-she wa toh-tey-moh she-ah-wah-say desu totemo ii ryokou deshita = it was a very good trip , or totemo subarashii ryokou deshita = it was a very wonderful trip Again pronunciation = toh-tei-moh ee ri yoh koh ( the ri and yoh are not separate in japanese ) de-she-tah " " sue-bah-rah-shee ri yoh-koh de-she-tah .
