The biggest help for me was definitely playing reactive and taking mental notes of the players habits( what do they do starting of the round?, do they sidestep after x move, do they finish the string, etc). It becomes easy to dominate an opponent once you can figure out how to counter and or limit their options. Force them to make unsafe plays

IMO nd from my experience, by the time you're late into blue ranks you should be focusing on timing and conditioning. from my experience and ofc the other players ive seen, you can have the same character knowledge, whiff punish reactions, and frame traps etc. as any of the pros, really from that point on it's about developing sense of timing and conditioning / spacing that separates blue ranks from real pro players. what worked for me was just doing simple delayed actions after plus frames or in neutral, and try to practice dash block and dash sidestep to bait buttons.

reactive playing really helps a lot. the main downside of this i have to wear glasses and be close to monitor, so the fight doesnt become a colorful mess which is impossible to understand what to react for -- bye bye my eyes

The removal of magic 4 is one of my biggest gripes with Tekken 8. I would’ve been okay with them nerfing it by making the combos off of them worse or harder, (think Lei f,n,2 pickup kinda hard) and there were some characters that absolutely should’ve gotten their magic 4 taken away, but outright removing it seems like a huge misstep to me. I play Lee though so I (kinda) got to keep it.

@@assassinonprozac yeah making the magic 4 start off as a screw, instead of a full combo. Then tekken 8 would be almost perfect for me imo. Atm it feels mashy af, even at high levels. Maybe tweak the amount of plus frame moves in the game to, drag can still loop plus frames even after the nerfs.

Wrong. Blue ranks has the biggest curve in terms of skill it’s not crazy for people using any character to get stuck there for a bit. There isn’t a single “broken” character besides Alisa at the moment
