Teacher Arnel thank you so much, 🎉 🙏 You have been the only one teacher that have said That! AMERICAN ENGLISH: *Must* is for rules, laws, mandatory and is really serious. *Have to* is for personal obligation more flexible and is more common to use when you speak. BRITISH ENGLISH ON THE CONTRARY: *Have to* express mandatory situation, pay fine and laws. *Must* is more flexible and talk about your personal decisions. AL FIN! THANKS TEACHER.🎉🎉 You are the best.

Hi Arnel, I have a question. Is it correct to use "had to have" in obligations, or it must be "had to"? For example: I have to go -> I had to go (I had to have go?) Is it also possible to use "had to" for probability? He have to be young -> He had to have been very young (He had to be very young?) I'm a bit confused...

Does "have to" mean that subject keep in his mind something like order on some action he obeys? And "must" means quite the same thing plus subject is going to do something he doesn't like, but does it because there would be somrting exelent in the final?
@ArnelsEverydayEnglish Жыл бұрын
Both of the verbs can be an order that you need to obey AND something you feel you need to do even though you may not want to. Using MUST when the subject has a personal obligation (It's only 3a.m. I must get back to sleep.) is more common in British English. I hope I answered your questions :)
