It's good to see farmers working together for a common cause. We need more of this in our country. 👍 Ahhh yes, the small square bales takes me back to my teenage years working on my grandparents farm. Loading on the trailer then unloading in the barn.

We had a MF #3 baler that caused us lots of problems. A neighbor stopped by one day and showed me how to fine tune the knotters, plus I read the manual, and that fixed the problem. Getting good knots one has to adjust the bill hook and if the shaft is worn, you may have to replace the whole mechanism which would have cost us $600.00. This was 10 years ago. Also the needles on our baler wouldn't come all the way back and we put a large spring to make it return quickly. The trip mechanism is outdated and needs to be replaced. We did ours. It seems Massie Ferguson made poor equipment. Dad changed out most of what was on the baler and put on different parts to make it work properly. If he couldn't find parts he made them himself. Great video. Enjoyed watching the baling.

One of the harder jobs on the farm was baling hay but it was also the best time because you would be working together with family. ther was 3 of us boys back in the 1950's, all in our teens. it was a good time

Nice to see all the children in one video, it's been a minute. One of the first times we got to get to know Abbey is when Ethan first got the baler and was fixing it up and trying it out when they were still dating. I read an interesting quote that could apply to just about any farm job "Little by little, a little becomes alot". We made it 5 days dry this week, but the rain returned yesterday. Blessings for a safe, healthy, and productive week for your family and farm.

Amazing how a simple thing as a combine changes things and saves time and money/effort when it comes to using it. I noticed when the straw got to the second tier Seth stopped the "this is easy" comments. Small bales of straw sell for a good cash price if you have extras.

I think it's awesome that Ethan has a square baler and wants to do straw baling. Your kids have a bunch of skills and with the farming in their back round that will instill patience, cause we all know that farming will test that. Nice video, loved the drone shots along with the music back up, you did a great job. Thanks and I hope you all have a wonderful evening and week ahead!

That was a pretty good idea she had wearing a skirt and sandals to the field so she would get to run the camera. I remember those days, trying to hustle to beat the rain. Twine square balers are rare as hens teeth down here in west central Indiana. Everybody wanted wire balers. Never have worked on knotters.
