As I hand gathered these over 30 years, I remained focused on buying the best & most unusual. I scoured antique malls, yard sales, auctions and thrift shops. These represent a fraction of my collection but I wanted to provide visual information in helping you know what to look for if you collect or even resell. Oh, Jason! I'm at the Medusa cameo, and once again, couldn't wait till the end of the video to comment. You mentioned that you're leaving your collection to charity, with an animal rescue in mind. WOW! How wonderful! I've been thinking of what to do with my things when I pass, and this is my plan, too! (By no means do I have anywhere near such a magnificent collection, but still, there are a few valuable jewels that I am incredible blessed to have received from viewers, and while I cherish them now, I want them to help animals when I'm gone.) I haven't decided which animal rescue, yet, but when the time comes to write a will, this is my plan. I LOVE watching your videos, but now, this just makes me appreciate your stunning and perfectly curated collection on a whole new level. PS- The cameo with an unknown mythical woman, I immediately thought, Diana? I've only ever seen her with a single crescent moon above her head, but out of curiosity, I googled "Diana double crescent moon" and found an ancient Greek golden ornament of a double crescent moon, one facing up, one facing down, similar to the hair ornaments on the woman in the cameo. So perhaps it's a version of the moon goddess, with waxing and waning crescent both depicted? So much fun to think about, knowing we may never know...

Thank you so much for sharing your collection of cameos and information about them! One reason why gold settings were removed and melted down years ago was war. My great grandmother, twice widowed, turned in her wedding rings, when the government asked for people to turn in their gold to help fund the war. I think that may have been WWI, but she couldn't remember, so I can't say for sure. So glad I found your channel. 👍😄

Oh Jason! You own so many amazing pieces! I adored the last piece! So opulent but restrained! As soon as you removed the angel head from the pouch, I knew it had some connection to death and funerals! What a heartfelt way to wear it! I recognized the scene which is depicted on the amazingly large cameo. It’s Nyx, or night, holding her children Sleep and Death and is based on a plaque by Thorvaldsen produced in the early 1800’s. Such a beautiful rendition! I so appreciate seeing your pieces and listening to your descriptions and anecdotes! Wow!! I’m seeing the dog brooch first off, and can’t wait for this video! I think I might have a Bakelite red beaded clear-like necklace from my last video’s unboxing! I just couldn’t get a positive from Simichrome but the 14kGF clasp, texture of beads, and all other signs say, Bakelite. I was jumping around my place at 3 am bcuz I finally got that smell from the beads by simply rubbing with my thumb. 🤦‍♀️😂 I was singing, “Yes! I got Bake-la-la-lite!” 💃 So exciting! Wow, wow, wow.... so many incredible pieces Jason. I ADORE cameos so this was right up my alley! Thank you so much for sharing these with us, I felt like I was visiting a friend and you were showing me some of your precious pieces, and telling me all about them. I think I gasped out loud when you brought out the hardstone Cupid & Psyche, the carving has such exquisite flow. I have a very small (but very well loved) cameo collection, I gravitate towards cameos carved in emperor helmet shell (cassis madagascariensis, also known as sardonyx shell), I think it's because of the beautiful contrast between the white and the dark brown background. But I hope to add a very beautiful hardstone cameo to my collection someday, as well. Hugs 💜💜💜I almost forgot, I love your photography too! Fabulous multi-exposures. "the classic pretty woman"..... The first cameo I ever owned was a vintage gold ring purchased over 45 years ago. The small shell carving is of what is arguably the most homely woman ever too grace a cameo, which is of course, why I still own it.
