It reminds me of being a kid...we would scribble all over a page and then color each space in using every color we had in our crayon box 😆. I can't help but wonder where in the world you find these projects 😁. TFS Regards to the menagerie and Papa too. Hope you all have a great day 🌞

There is nothing new under the sun...as many commenters have pointed out! The thing is you’ve done a great job opening the gates to memory lane! Fresh ideas. Messy fun.and the possibilities are endless! I like the one comment someone said they have doodle journal. I think we are all going to be doodling in our journals! It’s funny, I recently had something pop up somewhere about the “neurological” science-y why-ency “ doodle Art.and now we are journaling with it.... thanks for bringing out the kid in me. 🤗

Hi, Pam! We did this as kids too, but in a slightly different way. We would fold our paper in half. Then unfold it and with the fold line running horizontally across the page, write our word so the upper half of the letters were above the fold line and the lower half of the letters were below the fold line. Use a soft lead pencil and press firmly. Then we would fold the paper again with our writing on the inside and scribble on the back to transfer each half of the word over the other. After getting a good transfer, we would write over the lines with a black crayon or pen, then color in the spaces. So much fun, and it looks really cool too.

Great fun Pam, takes me back half a century plus!!!! Saw someone put about doing Wordtangle and your 'cat' put me in mind of another thing we used to do. In UK we had a chap called Tony Hart on TV got everyone doing all sorts of art stuff, and he would take a word and turn the letters into a picture of what it said, easier than it sounds for anyone who wants to give it a go. Honest 😄 Thought would try your words on the mass journaling cards you had us doing too,. Covered the uncovered side in a piece of white paper and will do the word on that, see how it goes, and send them to folks with happy mail, their name to use as a bookmark for example. Minds racing with ideas now but it's bedtime here in England!!!! Just signed up to your monthly mailing list too, as if I'm not already on inspiration overload 😂😂😂 thanks for the great videos and sharing of ideas. Victoria 😘👍

My first home computer had a feature in the paint program which did this sort of word shape coloring. It would make big puffy letters, slant them different ways, even fit them into shapes like cones and waves like a mosaic. Then I could add color as I liked. It was so much fun to mess around with.

this brings back memories of my childhood... if it was a wet rainy day my mum used to get old pieces of wallpaper and just scribble on it then get us to colour in like you're doing here...we'd use pencil, crayons and sometimes scrunched up tissue paper dipped in PVA glue... I'll be making some of these.

We used to do this but with our own names. You would then cut it out and it would look like weird body shape. But, do your name 3 times. But do it on a fold then cut it out and open it, so that will give you the shape. Every name will be different.

We do this on a fold. So when you cut it out and open it that would be the body. Sorry forgot to tell you this part.
