I am not defending the vandalizes in any way, but they kind of helped save the shark. They opened the lid of the tank which released the toxic gasses that preserved the shark, and it evaporated. If they had not done that, the body would eventually have been destroyed by the gasses and we would have never seen Rosie again. I do not like the fact at all that they threw all of that stuff in her tank. It was wrong, but they stopped her from decaying and rotting.

Why would someone put a shark in formaldehyde to begin with? Why did they even leave the shark there ? Im curious why the shark is floating and will it decay?? I got way too many questions

The shark was found dead in a fishing net and was preserved and given to a wildlife exhibit because she was in great condition and it would have been a shame to see such an amazing specimen go to waste. It is rare to get such a close view of a great white shark, as they can’t be held in captivity and sharks don’t have bones, only cartilage. And from my understanding, preserving a skeleton made almost entirely of cartilage is hard and uncommon. As to why she was left there, not sure. My understanding is that the park was closed down due to not having proper licensing to have the animals there. They probably just did a sweep to remove the live animals and she was left behind in the process.

tiny tim fan gurl People attempted to try and remove Rosie but the aquarium started to break and formaldehyde is a very dangerous chemical to touch or breathe in so they had to abort mission

She was a shark not a toy/attraction for a park,also bc in 2000 I don't know if they can take a video or something,NO BUT PUT A DEAD SHARK IN A TANK IS OK? also thx fr reading my comment,and rip Rosie

Ok, who the hell threw a chair on Rosie! The fact people threw things in the tank makes me sick. Her name is Rosie. She rests peacefully in the tank. Yet people are dumb dumbs, and they make her rest less peaceful by being ignorant and throwing things in her tank.
