Coincidentally I visited Kenroku-en in Kanazawa today. Beautiful garden :-) But I didn’t see too much of the city because I decided to return to Toyama early and rest up a bit because I caught a little cold in Togakushi. Your video is thrice appreciated, as I can now see the rest of Kanazawa, and also Takayama while recuperating in my hotel room.

I just came back from a trip there and Takayama was for sure the highlight of my trip, it was absolutely beautiful and nice to be in an area not surrounded by department stores and highrise buildings. Also highly recommend first time visitors to Kanazawa to make sure you see Kenrokuen Garden it's so beautiful! if you also don't make it to Shirakawago, an alternative is the Hida Folk village in Takayama, where they have re-located a bunch of historic buildings from the area and created essentially an open-air museum / village. It was absolutely stunning with the autumn colours, and a walkable distance or short bus ride from the main town!

The Japanese garden and conservatory I used to work at added black vegetable based dye to the ponds (a lot darker than the one you were at though).
