Here are a couple of tips that make assembly slightly easier kzbin.infoUgkxCx5fHawkK9OoV-ojFrY8JLnZrFwAmvUt . 1) One person can assemble, but if you have a buddy to help, it will make it go faster - especially steps 1-3 and 8 (the legs aren't heavy but can be difficult to hold while screwing things in). Step 8, 1st part will take some time unless you have two more hands OR are really lucky. 2) Use a socket wrench! 3) Step 7, 3rd part - the flame carry over tube has an open side, MAKE SURE THE OPEN SIDE IS FACING THE FRONT. If it's facing the back, the tube won't work. 4) Step 10, 3rd part - if you don't have small hands (I don't, they're gigantic) getting the nut on is really difficult (but not impossible). It took me about 4 hours to assemble, but I took a "union break" every 60-90 minutes and ate a quick lunch. Also, I'm really OCD so I took my time, looked at the instructions carefully, and cleaned up as I went.

The lid is not powder coated. It is enamel coated. Enamel is where they get the "E" for the model number for your BBQ. For instance, Weber Genesis II E-435 versus the "S" which stands for stainless.
@JaredDesrosiers3 жыл бұрын
Enamel coating is a form of powder coating technically. It is a powdered glass fused to the surface being coated. However, thanks for the clarification because specifically it's enamel and I should have clarified that.
@jimdent3513 жыл бұрын
@@JaredDesrosiers Yes sir, you are absolutely right. Enamel can be sprayed on using a powder coating process. I just wanted you to realize that the enamel was in fact a glass coating that is superior in this application to any other paints, but it would seem as though you know already. Nice Grill BTW. I just bought the S-335 that is presently out of commission due to a warranty issue. The pressure regulator on mine is faulty, and it would seem as though Weber had a bad batch of hoses based on the reviews on their website. Luckily, I was able to remove the hose from my camping stove to use temporarily while Weber sorts out the problem. It would seem as though they are out of stock on replacement hoses due to the problem I mentioned. Happy grilling!

Just two things from me - what are the specifics of the gas I need to buy for it and secondly does the adapter for gas bottle etc come with the bbq and lastly can you do a video of it actually cooking away something. Thanks

The grill comes with a propane gas valve and fitting for a standard 20lb tank. Yes, I'll make a video of it cooking something at some point.

When/how are you searing your steaks? On my current grill (an old weber) I am using a recently popular technique where you cook for longer periods at lower temperature, then increase the heat and sear it. The problem is you have to remove the steaks/burgers while you get it up to sear temps, then put them back on to sear. I thought I heard you say something about turning on the searing burner when you turn on the others....Haven't figured out yet how to use the sear burner. I am planning to get the E435 model you showed here.
@JaredDesrosiers2 жыл бұрын
I preheat the searing burner with the other burners. I sear the steaks first a couple of minutes per side, then once all seared, lower the temp, turn off the searing burner, and finish cooking.
@Genessis0012 жыл бұрын
That's because there's no "Sear Burner" Millard. This is very misleading on Weber's end. The "sear burner or what they call "sear station" is on the right side of this grill and is the only section that has burners underneath. The left side doesn't have burners and uses residual/infrared heat. It'd be like having your grill and only having 1 side working. Only thing that allows this to work is how powerful the BTU's are. Real sear burners are elevated above all other burners and are its own unit. Can be a inside the grill or take place of the table.
@JaredDesrosiers2 жыл бұрын
This grill has 4 regular burners - 2 on each side. The sear burner is an extra burner on the right side. It's located in between the 2 standard burners. You might be thinking if a different grill because this Genesis grill does have burners on the left side...

Great grill and good review. But a few clarifications. The fire box (what you call the burn chamber) is not cast iron. It is cast aluminum -- which Weber has been using for fire boxes for decades. Aluminum is good for that use -- aluminum will not rust. A cast iron firebox would rust. The black lid and black doors are enameled steel. Enamel is what the E in E-435 stands for. So close to indestructable glass-like porcelain. So somewhat mis-leading to call it powder coated steel. The other versions of this grill is the S-435 - with S standing for stainless steel rather than E-enamel. The enamel version of this grill comes with coated cast iron cooking grates (which I like to cook on). The S version comes with SS grates.

I don't use the side burner too often. But I agree that it has a high BTU output. In my experience, I've used it to deep fry chicken and sear things like scallops without problems. I can imagine having issues cooking foods on low heat on it though.

OK, just for shits and giggles, I was looking for more of a how well it worked cooking on it, what you've cooked and how evenly it cooked, not so much an overview of the features...again. Features I can look up, how well the grill works, like when you got into year around grilling, was more beneficial for me.

Wrong way to start right out of the gate - you never light with lid down and you start with the far left burner and move right

Great follow-up review! I just bought the same model, still needs to be assembled so I will check your other video. I think the black porcelain enameled lid is the way to go. My last Weber was a stainless steel Summit and that lid looked very discolored after a few years and it was always hard to keep clean. Also, I compared the new 2022 Genesis with the one you have (and the one I now have) and although it has a few new bells and whistles, it felt flimsier than the older gen.
