My great uncle started with Santa Fe back in the early 1940s. My Dad then hired out back in 1973 with Santa fe. I now work with Santa Fe/BNSF been Rail Roading for 23 years. My great uncle and Dad recently passed away. I'll keep them rails moving, keep them rails moving in Heaven. Will forever miss you both, rest in Paradise.. 🙏

What keeps them from tipping over ? im glad they dont ,,but I find it amazing, Where I live the tracks run right beside our main street about ten feet from the guardrail for about a mile .Theres a corner and they look like theyre going to tip but they never do ??

Absolutely amazing VIDEO! And seemingly endless train's from BNSF and UNION PACIFIC! I went out to Pomona to visit my friend. And we went to Cajon Pass and we did see 2 train's. But being she isn't a railfan we left the area. But I'd still love to move out there. Just to enjoy the action at the Pass!

I have noticed that American train drivers don't turn their headlights to low beam when passing a train going the other way. Here in Australia we always turn ours to 'dim' as a courtesy for each other and blast the horn if the other guy forgets!

Diesel electrics powering the economy!!!.....no alternative quite in sight in the foreseeable future to these dutiful compression ignition tractors
@EM.15 жыл бұрын
@Oliver Wabwire agree I’m Italian American sometimes I have to go to Italy for work reasons or hereditary/death disposition reasons (like a dead far relatives). In Italy every train is electric powered via electric high tension cables that run up the railway. The longest freight train that I have seen there ever was container single stack mixed with tanks of different chemicals or wagons of new cars. Maximum length 35 wagons and one electric powered leading engine. To electric power feed a UNION PACIFIC (example) the engines will needs the whole Nevada electricity consumes. Wiring the entire USA railway net will be physically impossible, and more impossible than the electrical wiring itself, will be electrically feed all the trains in the net moving contemporary and continuously. Diesel in US is the only possible solution due to the amount of railway freight traffic. Just think how many times Italy, can be fitted in the US territory. There’s, or at least I cannot imagine, a different solution in the USA scenario other than diesel power for those trains and also for the long distance passengers trains.

How do you get the images squeezed both vertically and horizontally?
@Cornelu5 жыл бұрын
For these old standard definition videos, you enter the command yt:stretch=16:9 in the tags section which makes the video fill the whole screen.
@SantaFeAllTheWay5 жыл бұрын
@@Cornelu Yes, but it distorts the image. I'd stick with the original proportions if I were you.

@@SantaFeAllTheWay I notice the images seem squeezed when I watch on a mobile device, but not on a computer. A fellow youtuber told me about that command because all the videos looked squeezed.
