This is beautiful. I watched it last night on my TV and I can't leave a thumbs up there so I came here to leave my thumbs up. Once distressed you can blend some ink over it with a blending sponge to create an even more amazing effect 😊

On the recessed thank you card the gem placement makes the damask design look like a bird. Like a fancy fighting chicken 🐔. Love the idea. I am looking at my embossing folders and metallic cardstock trying to choose the best combo.

Yeah the debossed card jewels made it look like it was looking right at you. These cards are stand alone gorgeous and done on gold cardstock is knockout stunning!

I have seen this technique done and I've tried it myself but had a little cracking effect because I forgot to spray the back of the cardstock with water first. Since then I've found that spraying it with alcohol works even better because it dries almost immediately. With any type of glossy or mirror CS I only spray the back of the paper. The cards turned out gorgeous today!

I love both images. I wasn't sure about the bling, but I became convinced after the first card. It just made it pop. I'm not sure about the large dot for the second card. Maybe it looks better in person; it just seemed too much. Scaling down from the most prominent dot to the smallest one is understandable, but it felt too big. Maybe if there were a size between it and the next size down, it would look better to me. I didn't care for the strip of white for the sentiment. The white strip seemed so stark compared to the rest of the card. Also, I wouldn't say I liked the sentiment going over the design. I would make the card a little longer with the sentiment above or below the design. Another option is not to include a sentiment on the outside. Have the sentiment on the inside or not, and use the card as a blank card for the user to write what they want.

Thank you so much for your feedback, Andrea. I actually agree with you about the big gem, and if I can remove it without ripping the cardstock I will change it to a smaller one. It's just a tad too big, isn't it? All your suggestions about not covering up the front are great, and I will bear in mind next time I don't want to cover up my card too much that it is ok to leave it without a sentiment and put it on the inside.

Beautiful results with the mirror card. The only suggestion I would make is to use double sided tape, not liquid glue to attach the embossed piece to the card base, especially for the card on the left that is EMbossed. The pattern of the liquid glue shows through to the front of the card and I feel it distracts from the elegance of both the embossed pattern and the metallic card stock. I very rarely use liquid glue to attach my card front to the base for that reason. Otherwise, lovely cards. JMO

Thanks for your response Erica. I’m checking with Anna Griffin’s staff. Have you ever seen the embossing folders with a strip attached for borders? Sometimes they are gold (Anna Griffin’s collaboration) and sometimes they are green (as in the green of Cuttlebug). Anyways, I can’t find anywhere that would answer if they can be taken off or should be left on. 🤷🏼‍♀️😅🌹

Mine is really old, and I don't remember where I got it because I'm also very old LOL but I'm glad you found one!

Where do you get the paper sander you used?

It's really old and probably from a nail place, or pharmacy where they have nail care products. You could also use a very fine grain sand paper if that's easier to find, just go easy with the pressure until you know how much it distresses your cardstock.
