Although I am a vegetarian since many years I must admit that whenever I come to Argentina I pretend to be someone else so that I can enjoy the meat (and yes: I really don't eat meat outside of Argentina or Uruguay). How could I resist bife de lomo con papas fritas or a choripán on the street... (the mind is strong but the stomach is weak...) I can put Chimichurri on anything: Cheese, vegetables, anything eggy (fried, scrambled, omelette, ...), grilled tofu, crackers, pizza, toasted honey (!) bread for breakfast, nachos, whatever you can think of - it will always be great! Next time in BA (hopefully soon) I will for sure visit Los Platitos - the ambience and decor is great (so typical for the restaurants of early/mid 20th century BA - I love it!) Thank you again for another great video from BA. 🧡💛💚💙💜🤎🖤

The food in that restaurant looked like something I would have loved during my big meat eating days. I wonder what made the pancakes Sam had for dessert orange? Did they add dulce de leche to the batter as well as for a filling? It almost looked like a sweet potato pancake or that it had turmeric or something to turn it that bright orange. Also besides parsley and raw garlic on the fries, is there anything else like vinegar or oil they use?

Good morning Audrey and Sam, I love your videos in Peru and Argentina. I booked a solo trip for 3 weeks to visit Peru and Argentina in June 2021, assuming the international border will be opened to US tourist. I keep reading so many bad stories (and some videos on KZbin as well) about personal safety to travel solo in both countries, especially when I don't speak Spanish well. If I were your younger brother, would you recommend me to visit solo? Thank you for your advice, Danny.
@samuelandaudrey3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for your message, Danny. I think it really depends on how comfortable you feel with the idea of travelling in these two countries. We've done multiple trips to South America and we've never had any trouble. We do take precautions like avoiding walking down empty streets at night, not dangling our cameras from our shoulder or neck, we're aware of the neighbourhoods we wander into. We try not to draw any unnecessary attention to ourselves - just common sense and basic street smarts. If you're not comfortable doing it entirely solo, you can try staying in a hostel where you're bound to meet other travellers.

Do you guys happen to know if proper dulce can be found in the states?

You might have some luck finding dulce de leche at a smaller Latin market that imports products from the region. That's where we used to buy ours for the longest time, now it's available at most of our local supermarkets.
