I grew up listening to punk rock and it definitely influenced me. I'm not about to blame my struggles with depression on that music but a lot of times it helped me to go further down instead of lifting me up. Music, and art in general, ABSOLUTELY DOES influence our thinking and that only increases when you're still young. Just like me, Dee-1 works with youth so he sees first hand that the impact of the music is real... Also, we can criticize our legends without throwing them away. Eminem criticizes himself in his music. He demonstrates growth. So why can't we?
