I use the fade blade also on my seniors clipper, Its a clipper for speeding through cuts. They don't grab hair like the beveled blades and saves your wrists from doing that c motion.

Hi Sir, If somebody uses fade blade, then need C motion more, isn't it? That's because Fade blade is flat, so if it wants to be smooth and then it must do C motion.. What am I missing..?

@@Makitman honestly you can either stay flat to the head or flick out it’s all about preference. Most ppl use the fade blade to erase the skin like easier after setting in the first guideline with trimmers. It gets closer than the taper by a couple millimetres. In summary some ppl such as myself will set do majority of the cut with a taper blade and then detail with a fade blade or vice versa. It’s all about preference and making your own system in the end

And I mean this with no disrespect but the C motion is a little overrated because when I taper with a fade blade I just lightly feather the blade over the section to create that blurry effect. It’s all about knowing how to flick that lever like you hitting switches in a 64 impala

Personally I think to describe the taper blade as a 'beginner blade' is misleading, as in, an experienced barber will not move from a taper blade to a fade blade (or surgical), rather he will have both in his arsenal. If you work in a barber shop that caters to a narrower cross section, i.e mainly skin fades and the like, then yes, if you need to chose only one, go for a fade blade, but if you cater for to a wide cross section a taper blade is pretty much vital. There are many cuts that a taper blade is far superior for, except a fade. Speaking personally, I have two sets of magic clips, one with a taper blade (which is great with the crunch cutter), the other with the fade blade, I reach for them equally. Just my opinion but loving your videos. Subbed.

Great video! I'm using both! Why? Because from skin to guard size 2 for smooth transition best is fade blade!!! After guard 2 I'm using Crouch blade for bulk and proper C motion just before clipper over comb! Also recommend to change cutting blade for ceramic blade in both clippers! Peace

The blade number 2161 for standard magic clipper is the fade blade? or taper blade? I think my magic clipper's standard blade is flat blade. But on google search result, "The Cordless Magic Clip features a high precision stagger-tooth 2161 blade with crunch technology.". So it's difficult to me... If Magic Clipper's standard blade is fade blade(flat blade), I'm gonna get JRL 2020c (because JRL 2020c uses taper blade). All the wahl blades are inter changeable except for the 3 holes which some wahl clipper models utilise. So you can change any 2 holes wahl blade between pretty much most models!
