Same. I routinely binge reaction videos like these just to see it haha - loved this one man. So many bars - "they say I'm up and "cumming" like I'm fucking in an elevator" is one of the stand outs for me because its so damn clever. And most of that 6th verse - "if you can't keep up you'll 'get none' you're celebate. My flows developing, skin lacks melanin. Give me a shot of Adrenaline and i get it in do it for the hell of it cause ever since i hit the mainstream with the a team i seem to sell a bit" - just that whole damn thing. So smart and smooth. New sub here, appreciated the authentic reaction! Not many people can keep up with that much of it on the first listen. ❤

Fun Fact: In 2017 Ed Sheeran closed the Glastonbury Music Festival live to millions of people with just him and his loop pedal. Which is an incredibly brave thing to do without a backing band. People we're so quick to judge him that it sparked a huge controversy of people claiming he was miming the whole performance and not even playing his instruments half the time, simply because they didn't understand what a loop pedal was. He had to come out and make a public statement, “Never thought I’d have to explain it, but everything I do in my live show is live. It’s a Loop Station, not a backing track. Please Google”. Just show's how misunderstood an artist or performance can be!

You’re spot on. This song is about the industry and how they didn’t give him a chance in the beginning. They didn’t like his look, and didn’t think he was what they were looking for. He’s one of my favorite artists. Also that line about writing his verses is a shot at artists who have ghost writers and try to take all the credit like they wrote it all.

What's incredible is that this setup his live experience. Old knackered guitar and a loop pedal plus Ed's voice - and that's it. 50 people in a pub or 120,000 in a stadium - it's the same gig and the same setup.

I think because hes famous for his massive love songs people dont realise just how good a loop musician he is... his shows are absolutely insane. Who else you know who can sell out 90,000 stadiums SOLO, no band, no dancers, just him.

Interesting facts on this and Ed - He has been writing and adding to this song since he was 15. When he first came to America he performed at Jaime Foxx's club and after he didn't have a place to stay so he crashed on Jaime's couch for a couple weeks. This is an absolute genius performance! Glad you did this one. That Sex Club part was the hook from a 50cent song

Search ed Sheehan Jamie foxx, he performs this track in a mainly black club and a little ginger kid turns up in his guitar and has everyone on their feet. Incredible video

Bit late to the party but I can give you his background. So this song has about 10 different versions and this is the extended live version and always the best. The song is written about record labels that used to always turn down the geeky ginger kid with a guitar. The 2 sections in the middle able drugs are covers of 50 cents - in da club and laid Blaks- My eyes are red. If you listen to the album version you will hear the difference and which parts are all eds.

The thing I like about both Ed and Damien Rice "mentioned in the song". Is that even though they "made it", they still perform like a street performer. The way this song is built is how he would do it if he was still performing on the street. Sidenote: if you like that style of building on a loop pedal, you should listen to Damien Rice "I Remember (the 9 min 49 sec one)." It's breathtaking.

Great reaction. I’m glad you know what a loop pedal is, because other people that have reacted to this video thought that the sound engineers recorded all of his parts individually, instead of realizing Ed was doing them all himself. Also this song was his response to the music industry, because they didn’t want to sign him because he looked “different” and they didn’t think he was “marketable” I enjoyed your excitement about watching him make this whole song on the spot. That line about “you can find me in the club, bottle full of bub” is a line he borrowed from the artist 50 cent from his song “in da club”.
