Ann Wilson did it concerts with Heart back in the 1980. She was a close second to this Bobby Hatfield version which I have always loved. Great perennial song done by some great singers. ( I am an old, senior citizen guy, ha 🙂)

@@johns20901 I took you advice and listened to Ann Wilson. I liked it even though it was a semi-rock version not the softer version by Bobby Hatfield. That woman has one powerful voice and her high notes are stratospheric like Bobby Hatfield. Thanks I will have a listrmen to more of her songs. I like females with powerful singing voices and a broad octave range and she definitely has that un spades. 👍🇦🇺👍👍👏👏👏👏

This is a vocal masterclass... Bobby Hatfield is arguably the greatest male vocalist of all time... He had it all, the looks, the voice, and effortlessly cool... Aspiring singers should watch this performance because there was no auto tuning, no cues, nothing but raw talent... The only other person with a voice of an angel was Karen Carpenter.... Never will we hear vocals like this again. This is a fluke of nature that only ever happens once... Listening to this song is a privilege... PERFECTION 👌

This is Bobby Hatfield. Half of The Righteous Brothers. He was 25 years old here....he suffered severe stage fright...and live TV and his parents in the audience made him even more afraid. And he did THIS... 😀 Watch him biting his lip at the end as to say "See, mom...I nailed it" 😁 NO one could top this...not even the great Presley.

Songs were magic in the 60's. Love songs were sung to women, not about women, they were about love, not sex.... Male singers sang to seduce women. When you feel like you're just a puddle of emotion, you've been swooned.....

They say perfection is unattainable but this has to be close; it's hard to know how it could be improved upon. This is not an easy number to sing, but he does it effortlessly. The look, the pitch perfect notes, the mannerisms; everything is just enchanting. Agree with a previous contributor that it's sad Bobby isn't here to see the reactions to this song. It is called blue eyed soul. And while this song has been recorded by over 670 artists, the version by the Righteous Brothers is considered the quintessential version. The late great Bobby Hatfield simply knocked it out of the park. Perhaps your momma didn't share this song with you because of how it speaks to a woman's heart and her soul. Couple of things. First, I love Lovely's reaction. Second, heartfelt lyrics. Third, a wonderful composition for the orchestra or band. Third, the orchestra played phenomenally. Fourth, the silence of the audience almost leaned into and along with the presentation, giving it along with Bobby and the orchestra, an air of reverence for love. And lastly, Bobby Hatfield....what a voice. I consider it an epic masterpiece, a gift of love to the world to cherish. Bravo to all.
