Direct to Film Printers (DTF Printers) are t-shirt TRANSFER printers
DTF Printers use liquid inks instead of toners or screen print inks (all 3 are vastly different). They appeal to larger custom t-shirt and on-demand personalization businesses.
Commercial DTF Printers are Key.
All of the comparison numbers and convenience of mass-producing dtf transfers are in the high-volume machines.
Single sheet, aftermarket manufactured style dtf systems are far less efficient and have more steps.
There are a few reasons for that:
An Epson color printer converted to be a direct to film machine still prints 1 sheet at a time.
That’s inherently slower than printing on a 24” roll. A commercial printer is inherently faster.
And obviously, buying dtf film one sheet at a time is much more expensive per square inch.

Thanks for the comment. But sublimation is not the way to go. Especially with DTF as such an easier option.

I used the bottles that came with the printer(after washing them & filling them with sublimation ink) I had some ink left over. Thank you for this video, it was very helpful, although not nearly as easy for me as it was for you. My question I looked at the front of my tank, and the ink wasn't feeling up in the front like it did with yours, does that mean I have to put more? for example, I used 2 syringes for black, and it still looks as if there is nothing there, when I did it for the blue, the ink started leaking through the outside opening on the right side where the cartridges are.

l saved the original top so l can refill my printer, however it tells me that l needs to purchase new ink when the level on the computer showing that it fills. I don't want to over full it and then have that as a problem can you suggest how l can tell if the tank is full. I just found your video and I feel like an idiot. But I cannot see the ink levels on my Epson Et 2720 through the ink level windows. I have read the manual and nowhere does it say how to refill at least that I understand. By watching this I see I have to use the needles which I had no idea to do , I did guess that maybe that was what to do and did that for the black but was afraid I was going to damage something. Is there a way to tell how much ink is used or still in the tanks other than the plastic windows that don't even show any color, never have?

lol first off you're not an idiot lol 2nd as you can see in the video I just had to wing it. It sucks cause the ink kinda stains the fill window so you really don't know how much you're adding but! if you have been using it for a long time and it seems "empty" I would suggest filling up the needle like half way and adding it slowly. The new ink will kind of show and you will be able to tell. Its better to add a little and have to add some more later then trying to fill it up and making a huge mess. I hope this bit of advice helps.
