If you contact Yaeger LeCoutre direct, they can determine the age of the watch by the serial number and the number on the movement. They have been very helpful with the three that I own. 1936, 1944, and 1949

Hi. Great collection. All of them are very interesting.but i think my favorit one is the powermatic. It's so unique. I like how the bumper has more space to move ofcourse the power reserve indicator is very special & different to even new models. When you see the red color you'll know that it needs to wind instantly. I also like two seperate winding feature in alarm watches.

Very nice collection. Choosing my favorite isn't easy - they're all so nice. I just started a collection about 6 months ago. I think JLC is the best vintage watch to collect. Though not the most popular brand, they are certainly among the finest quality. You pay a premium for popular brands like Rolex and Omega. At least JLC is still somewhat affordable. All 3 of mine are LeCoultre branded bumper automatics and their accuracy amazes me. Did you buy yours in their current condition, or have you had to do some restoration on them?
@TimelessHistoryChannel2 жыл бұрын
thank you for the comment. I am a watchmaker and I had to service every piece that you see in this video. Nice JLC is not very affordable nowadays either. Collectors are smart and will pay over premium when they come across a fine example. The market is no longer the same like it once did in the past.

@TimelessHistoryChannel Жыл бұрын
It could be a snap back which you’ll need a knife to pop it open. Or it could be a twist and turn back, where it will require you to do a slight turn and then pop it open.
@coda56 Жыл бұрын
@@TimelessHistoryChannel I have tried really hard to get a knife in there, but I can't get any leverage, knife won't just slip in anywhere. In the pictures I've seen of ones with a back like mine, the case doesn't have any thread for the back, so probably isn't a screw on. I might just have to take it to get serviced, but I don't have a job yet, so I have no money to pay with. I appreciate the quick reply, and the good suggestions though, so thank you!
@TimelessHistoryChannel Жыл бұрын
@@coda56 Take your time and save up first. If you're not a watchmaker, you do not want to service it yourself. All the parts are tiny, and you need to know what you're doing, or you'll end up breaking something making future service even more expensive. Another way to open a case back is to use a flat razor blade. But please be extremely careful and wear goggles
