Guys so many of you wanted me to refer to them as “Differently Abled” or “specially abled” but let me tell you this... i have my own sister who is PWD and I am being careful about it. No one can understand better than having a family with PWD. I don’t blindly called them PWDs but I have done research on my part ever since 2014 because it was part of my research work. Let’s be practical, we want to call them “specially abled” (sorry, they don’t have any special powers), “special needs” (doesn’t everyone have needs?) Now “Differently Abled”. However, So many people have strong disagreements with this term. After all, isn’t everyone differently abled? I might be a good writer, others might be good singers, traders or chefs. Language like “differently-abled” or “diverse-ability” suggests there is something wrong with talking honestly and candidly about disability. Both “differently abled and specially abled” are outdated terms... we have to be practical so I prefer either Person with disabilities or people with disabilities. I hope you got my point☺️💜
