Suleiman was always the main villain..or maybe he was supposed to be it. It's been foreshadowed so many times that he is destined to become like his father or maybe worse. He always had dreams that someone will over shine him or someone will take his power. He started having those dreams from long ago. His behaviours started changing slowly but he became more and more arrogant and selfish with time. The main change started to appear after he won battle of mohacs . Even his mother pointed out that he has changed after that. In the beginning whenever someone praised Ibrahim or Mustafa he used to get proud and later he used to get offended by hearing people praising them. Him despite being a religious person suddenly being obsessed with Machiavelli book for no logical reason. These were the signs.

Of course, when the screenwriter doesn’t do his job and present Suleyman’s point of view you are justified to express such opinions. Suleyman is not a villain; he is an ANTI-villain. That’s how the original screenwriter intended him, and actually all characters to be. He did what he had to do. The original writer presented every character’s as justified and moral from his point of view at least. Then came this incompetent clown, and turned the main characters into outright villains!

In reality meaning not the show. They were caught up in too many calculations. It was a fight for survival based on their archaic laws and customs. Many could have lived but for the sultans ridiculous beliefs and customs

my understanding is the laws came about when one of the sultans died and his sons all split the empire, and then fought and killed each other to take full control. The internal wars caused so much chaos and conflict within the Ottoman empire for years, weakening it. That is why they thought it was better to get rid of the competion immediately to avoid what had previously happened. Not saying it was right, just stating the actual history as to why.

I know most of the people know about ottoman from the series and most people love hurrem as people get to see her past and another due to meryem(i don't like hurrem or mahidevran in series but love meryem). We see how hurrem is the only one who was alone in the whole time but in real history it was kind of opposite. Mahidevran didn't had anyone due to the conflict with hurrem and fell out from being favourite concort. Call me biased but I love real life Mahidevran as 1. She knew how to gather trust of common people and the army 2. She was indeed a great mother to Mustafa and he was a competent heir and kind of both the mother and them had similar vision like Selim I. One of the greatest reasons why Sultan Suleiman executed Mustafa.

Although everyone likes to blame everything on hürrem, it was totally mahidevrans fault that his son got killed. There was this one scene that mihrimah was telling to Suleyman that she doesn't want to go with him as long as firuze is there, and after that hürrem warned her saying she shouldnt be disrespectful to her dad no mater what. mahidevran was attacking hürrem all the time, getting caught and warned, then going to Mustafa and crying to him every single time made Mustafa go against his father and he labeled as the "rebel one" in eyes of Suleyman. her stupid rivalry against Hürrem led to the end of her son. she was not strong enough to deal with the situation herself, so he always put his son in the way. Oh and needless to say how she acted when Suleyman was sick, that also made not just Suleyman but everyone else think that Mustafa is after suleymans throne.

It's just a fight to survive in a place where ONLY men rule and the knoy women who ever made a change were Hafsa Sultan, Haseki Hurrem Sultan, and then Mihrrimah Sultan. A lot changed for Hurrem's sake, in the show. Everyone else was hust fighting her instead of Suleyman. Still, the worst oart is Mahidevran wouldn't accept that it was SHE who didn't teach him well. He took on her self-righteous beliefs of owning the palace and brought it to life in the way he acted. She brought his death. It was he and his disobedience, then his negligence to act towards those who did not just speak but planned outright a userping of the throne that sealed his death. His wife helped kill him. Every steo they took, he let them kill him. That seal, Mihrrimah stole, wasn't even needed. He was going to be killed. Especially since Mehmet Pasha found his would be usurping buddies. It was a long time coming. I personally think that when he started fighting with Hurrem and rebelling, Suleiman knew that he would be the first killed. 😅

На самом деле , судя по сериалу, все проблемы начались с того, что хюрем высынула нос, чтобы Сулейман её заметил. Если б молчала и не предавала память близких и Христа, то вряд ли бы он её возвысил бы, так пару раз, как Махидевран использовал бы. На самом деле Махидевран неплохая, она любила Сулеймана, от любви озверела, крышу снесло, мне её жаль, и Мустафу тоже. Сулейман сам загубил всё, убив Мустафу и дав власть пьянице Селиму! Иэта ведьма михримах, украла печать брата и этим его убила! Сулейман старый тупица, так ничего и не узнал, не догадался, скорее всего и не хотел знать!

In whole serial i didn't like mahidevran ..she only thinks about mustafa crowing as king..she never loves sulieman as hurrem loved..magnificient century is abt unconditional n passionate love of hurrem towards king suleman..she used to love mahidevran children but mahidevran always differentiate between them n wants to take revenge with hurrem.

sultans killed anyone who reached for the throne full stop Sulieman was the last prince standing as his father selim killed his brothers. Heck the worst i can think on top of my head was a descendant Sultan Mehmed 3rd, his half bros were children AND BABIES. He killed NINETEEN OF THEM. This is nothing to do with Hurrem, Mahidevra (in show) killed Mehmed so started this. Sultans comitting fratricide was a tradition ongoing for generations before and after Sulieman. Mustafas power was growing and sulieman got spooked. Should have kept his head down. Theres no love strong enough that a whisper can break the love of a father/son relationship like that, however evidence that the janissaries are supporting a direct threat to your throne is another matter.
