I really don't think that Dave harbors any hate toward James. I think it's really just heartbreak that he can't get through. James was his best friend and he just tossed him aside without a second thought. It's like that one gf you had who hurt you so bad that you'll always get just a bit sad when you think about them. It's tough to watch, and of course Dave has his own demons which don't help his mindset, but i think the combination of being cast aside by his best friend mixed with that "what might have been" bit just makes it so difficult for him to deal with it.

I do see where you'd think that, but... mustaine is a trained fighter in multiple (practical) martial arts. The only time it came to blows between them, it was 2 vs 1, hetfield wound up getting knocked on his ass, and the other guy (original metallica bassist) got thrown on his head. someone has said it here, Dave is a REAL person, a true human being. James on the other hand is a shadow, a fake person, fearful, immature and locked within himself, who can't establish a real relationship with people. it's in the eyes. they're always aloof, he doesn't look people in the eyes and every time he opens his mouth he seems to be trying to escape from something or someone.

@johnwebster495911 ай бұрын
I'm a completely different person at 42 than i was or anyone who knew me could've ever imagined when I was in my 20's. Granted there were reasons & I had catalysts for change. Some people actually do grow, mature, let go of their excuses & the playthings of their youth in order to overcome the obstacles in their path. There will always be people who won't &/or can't, maybe they're not ready to. It does take introspection + a willingness & determination to do the work thats required, & thats likely why few people are capable of change, its a choice. People can & do change, if you don't believe that then you should quit allowing yourself bullshit excuses for the sake of comfort & laziness. Excuses won't help you when you're called upon to act your age, & they're ineffective against reality, you can take that to the bank. Discipline, ethic, resolve, knowledge, strength, & pride are not attained with time, they are earned. The value of each is above any monetary or physical worth, I would not be the man i am today without having chose to pursue goals that remain. Metal rusts, everything is taxed & returns to the earth, the knowledge & honesty you choose for yourself will serve you until death. People are capable of change & growth, anyone can attain both. Sadly its much easiertoday to criticize others & console your own lack of progress, but thats a choice, whether you acknowledge it of not
