Mustang Demo at the 2014 Adequan Global Dressage Festival

Full video Elisa Wallace and her mustangs, Rune (competitor in the 2013 Mustang Million - bit.ly/1kZxdVE) and Fledge (winner of the 2012 Extreme Mustang Makeover in Clemson, SC - bit.ly/1fZZqed), as they strut their stuff in front of a full house during the FEI Grand Prix Freestyle competition at the Adequan Global Dressage Festival in Wellington, FL.
Elisa traveled to the Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington, Florida for the Palm Beach premiere of the new 3D film American Mustang the Movie, to raise awareness about issues surrounding the management of wild horse populations in the United States, and to advocate BLM mustang adoption through programs like the Mustang Heritage Foundation's Trainer Incentive Program (TIP) and the Extreme Mustang Makeover.

The thing with the mustang is that they may be strong willed but you will never meet a horse more intelligent and more loyal. Earn their trust and learn to work with them and they will do anything for you. Between their loyalty and intelligence, they are a breed with amazing potential to do anything.

I think you are absolutely a wonderful rider and trainer, watching what you do with these mustangs, tackless and wearing only a neck rope. Amazing! Great to watch the communication and trust between horse and rider. I rode for about 20 years, but sadly a knee replacement put an end to many sports.

This is amazing! I have a mustang as well and I just taught him how to back up, by just tugging on his mane and using my voice. They certainly are amazing horses

Yes, I am 5 yrs late.... but that was the most fun to watch...the most AMAZING routine I have ever watched! Fantastic job!!!! Looked like Rune was having as much fun as you!! The second horse (Fledge?) was cool too....but Rune was on fire. ;) Been watching your channel lately, mostly the TIP ones. Love seeing the different personalities and how you are so natural at connecting with them. I like how you do the voice over while we watch the video and just talk us through what we are seeing. It's very easy to learn from what you are showing us... Anyway....I don't think I have seen videos of these two. Will have to go back and watch what you have, hopefully get the back story on these two. :)

How many millions of little girls all over the world would want their very own horse? Many times, these mustangs can be bought for a couple hundred dollars and they are healthy. Otherwise, to the slaughterhouse. Many fine breeds in the mustang populations, quarter horse, Morgan, Andalusian, etc.

While so much of this is so very impressive and certainly not anything that I am skilled enough to accomplish, it still doesn't sit right with me how she is hauling Rune around by his face when riding with a bridle. He was behind the vertical, broken at the 2nd/3rd vertabrae, kept bucking in the canter and seemed very confused and/or uncertain about a lot of the moves he was being asked to accomplish. While it was handled beautifully and the praise of the horse was lovely to see, I do not think these horses were ready for this. Nonetheless, congrats on what you have accomplished and on having such beautiful horses.

InnocentSuccubus08 Its a whole different ball game, when you perform in front of hundreds of people at the biggest dressage show in America. I loved how she frequently rewarded the horse, even though the movements were not always perfect. A lovely horse and a super trainer. We should all be inspired to conduct ourselves likewise at such a serious venue. I was very impressed with the horse and the riders good sportsmanship and great horsemanship!

They weren't really true bucks (which means throwing the head down and throwing the hind end up). They were more of bounces and kick outs since he kept his head up.

He is a 5 year old mustang who was only out of the wild for about a year or so in this video. She has done an amazing job in working with these horses and getting the word out about mustangs.

I am a huge fan of Elisa Wallace and her ride on 'John' (Simply Precious) at the Rolex cross country with her GoPro vid is impossibly inspiring. This performance is less-so and perhaps it's the music choice or that Elisa changes horses by stepping over the fence (big deal, who cares) but there's an element of contempt here, perceived or real e.g. Elisa throws away the bridle and then starts doing circus tricks? Have you people seen this woman desensitizing wild horses with her trusted GoPro or making the Rolex cross-country on the fabulous John look impossibly easy?? I have a wonderful new horse I found in a field arriving next week and spent the last two hours watching Elisa with her mustangs (stumbled onto her and John last week and here I am again). So obviously a huge fan of Ms. Wallace but this performance is not her at her best. Dressage is a three-year minimum project to have your partner feel on-the-edge while giving the appearance that every movement is effortless. It's a big fucking huge commitment to get there . . . just say'in.

Not trying to be rude, but the title says mustang demo so it is a demonstration of the skills rune and fledge have learned. So maybe it wasn't their best performance, but even though I'm not the one to judge, I think she did amazing!

+Anne P You need to get a clue. This isnt a Dressage demo. This is a mustang demo. While it does have some dressage elements. The point of this demo is to show that once wild horses can be ridden without the use to excessive force and heavy bits.
