i find its a coinflip if the battle line sets before they fire, you are golden. if not, fuck. i find starting them mid way back or just behind tower is best, coupled with ensuring your chaff gets ahead/meets them just as they get into range. only really works against a standard set up (ie, no oblique order - the aggressive tactic of overloading one side of the field)

If the games had lasted longer, I would have. I usually won by round six though, so I just didn't have the funds. I valued range over that. But I am looking forward to it 😁

Oh definitely. Wraith with Armor Enhancement will put an insane amount of pressure on my Mustangs. I'll have to get Aerial and attack upgrades from the tower to battle it.

I've been building a ton of hackers recently. I'm only hovering around 1200-1300 MMR, but they seem to be super hard for people to deal with after the latest patch. Wonder how it will shake out.

So, how would you deal with this? I've had trouble at least once. Their hackers with range, early chaff, late chaff, and other meat shields in between didn't let my scorpions lock onto them before they started hacking my main lines. Do I go even more chaff? Maybe late fangs so they get hacked after I hopefully cleared the opponent's chaff clearers? I still don't have a clear answer for this...

The important thing to deal with Hackers, aside from the fact that they cannot shoot up, is to have something with a high target rate so it can kill the chaff they hack faster than they can hack them. So something like chaff in front with Mustangs to kill the ones they hack. You'll have to clear their chaff fast as well so you can start hitting his Hackers.

@@WhoopedGG Just lost another one to hackers. Had lots of chaff, they added chaff clear. Got stormcallers to try to reach them, they added anti-missile mustangs. I'm running out of ideas, to be honest. I even had some phoenixes, but they weren't enough...

Been fluctuating a lot between low 1000 and low 1100, so I think I'm hitting a wall of game understanding that, once breached, should give me a better idea of how to handle these situations that now leave me dumbfounded. But I have been having quite a bit of success with those vulcans, when conditions are right.

been wondering how to counter this and honestly im a bit stumped would have said storm callers (as thats served me well against hackers before) but stangs anti missle counters them. heavy air with storm callers maybe? as the stangs cant shoot both air and missiles at the same time otherwise maybe crawlers with mechanical rage but they gotta be timed right. really stumped on a counter for this. sandworm?

Outside of air, you need to be able to kill the hacked chaff faster than they can be hacked. So something with a high target rate. So it'd be chaff followed by Mustangs or something that can shoot and target fast (in addition to the usual chaff clear n such). Mustangs cannot do both at the same time, but I think that particular weakness is overstated by the community. Mustangs can still do a lot of damage when they're not shooting at missiles. Air is absolutely an option. Wraiths are great against Mustangs, so if you hit them with missiles, you could also send Wraiths with Armor Enhancement. That will make them get Marksman probably, which is single target and wouldn't do particularly well against your chaff. Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the face (quote by Mike Tyson), so it's all theorhetical and I'm sure your opponent would adjust just like you will adjust. But that is a start 😄

@@WhoopedGG i theorize air would be best, wraiths (throw degen beam on them to slow the attack speed as well) are a solid counter stangs. recruiting marksman late game feels trash to deal with wraiths, overlords counter them pretty well but they get countered by snipers too well its a pity typhoon are unlock only. had a game where a guy went pretty heavy air and whilst i was winning the ground war (hoping for a typhoon drop) the air just got worse and worse. i find stangs dont do enough damage unless levelled and upgraded, marksman are too slow and if you are behind the air deployement power curve you just wont survive

@@primachpepe8597 That is so true. If you're behind the curve, it's a wrap. That's why I like getting Marksman early and preemptively. If you place them down reactively, they're a poor choice mid to late game. If you already have a skeleton crew of them, though, you can adjust to Wraiths and Overlords rather nicely. That would be interesting if Typhoons weren't a rare unit. I think they would be used a lot.

@@WhoopedGG they are the best ground based anti air, with aerial spec and mechanical rage. tarantula's and arclights are okay at anti ait, i rate the tarantula over the mustangs in that role but they are too expensive and dont do well against heavy air units.
