Hey guys. David the owner here. I’d first like to thank Andrew for doing a great job tuning the car. I was originally planning on tuning it on the stock ecu but Andrew quickly steered me towards an ms3 and I couldn’t be happier. The car drives incredibly smooth and all of the extra functions definitely make it worth the money. As far as setup, it’s a completely stock motor, trans and rear end. 3.73 gears, an mgw short shifter and a spec stage 2+ clutch. Aluminum driveshaft and full upr suspension front and back. I am completely confident in the tuning and expect the car to last me a long time. In the mean time, I’m building the motor that came out of the car and hopefully Andrew can push this car into the 600hp range in a year or so 👍🏻. If you guys need any tuning, I can not recommend Andrew enough. He answered all of my questions, addressed my concerns and gave me exactly what I was looking for 👍🏻

That is a really quick car; and it looks great. A turbo 2v would be a great kind of more budget friendly build.cheaper than a 3v or coyote car and parts are probably.cheaper too.

People sleep on the 2v, but they can be quick. Remember they are light especially compared to the sports cars of today

The problem is everyone judges everything off peak hp they say oh a forced induction 2v "only" makes 400 something wheel coyotes make that stock the new ones do blah blah blah. Andrew trapped 127 mph in the quarter with a 420 rwhp manual 2v that tells you everything. You'd need decent bit more to run that fast with a newer mustang. It's not about peak hp it's about average power and torque and how fast the car is. You don't necessarily need a million peak hp for a fun quick car it depends on what it's in and the overall setup..

Literally have a 2v build in the works. Sold all my 2v stuff to my buddy when k got my 19 gt 10 speed. Just bbk tb/plenum cold air intake 93 tune and a little nitrous right now. But it’ll soon have a set of gen 3 coyote rods, ported heads, Howard rattler cams, kenne bell 2.1 longtubes, 4r70 w/3000rpm stall and p.a. Shift kit. It’s funny because I was just telling him he should get the ms3 and let’s take a weekend trip to Florida and have Mustang lifestyle tune it. Which I’m pretty sure is still the plan. With the coyote rods we are hoping to push it into the 525hp range but we will see how it goes.
@midnight3476 ай бұрын
You should easily be able to make that power with them rods. Btw gen 3 is the same as boss and gen 2 rods they aren't gen 3 specific not sure if you knew that. I might do the boss rods with forged pistons for a big bore setup on my 97 cobra with ported c heads, aftermarket cams and a ported short runner b intake (to use with c heads make it more of a sleeper) car would be well over 400 rwhp with higher compression and e85 but would still "look" like a simple bolt on 97 under the hood. I ain't even gonna convert to coil on plug to enhance its sleeper status and save cash lol. *edit* if I tune it with ms3 I could Rev it higher with them rods safer and even boost it if I want
@justa3v6196 ай бұрын
@@midnight347yea I know the boss rods are the same as the gen2/3. I usually just say coyote rods assuming everyone would know i wouldn’t use a gen1 set but every time I say we doing coyote rods the first response is well if it’s gen1 rods they aren’t any better than the 4.6 lol so I just started saying gen3. Kinda wish I would have told him to get a set of pistons instead of spending the $600 on cams. But this is really his first some what powerful car so we starting low anyways. Probably initially start at 7-8psi and go up as he gets used to the car. He plans on taking an old 3v block and building it with a complete forged bottom end over the next year or so and once it’s done swap it into the car with a little more fuel system and crank up the boost a little more
@justa3v6196 ай бұрын
@@midnight347before I sold him the car I was planning on doing something similar. Was going to do a 4v swap with the cobra cams mach intake and a little nitrous. But then I found a 10 speed I wanted 😂. Sold the car to my buddy. Got a good deal on the kb so decided we will just keep the 2v and put the kb instead of a 4v swap

@@justa3v619 can confirm... got 2/3 gen rods but kept stock pistons and tried to give a little extra gap... was making 463hp and 438tq on 93 at 11psi on a used vortech kit for a month and then I cracked a ring land on 2 pistons... now have a set of manley rods and pistons ready to go in it soon so I can go to e85 and up the boost since im going to be tearing the motor open.

Couldn't agree more with getting an MS3 or something sooner than later. I explain that as far as "computers", why would I try to browse the internet with something from the early 2000s when something from the 2020s is available. Same reason why I want something from this generation managing my engine.

Is the power drop off from the stock heads/cam or is it running out of turbo up top?

Little bit of both. The turbo Bullitt had a similar curve on the original setup. When we switched to the new turbo kit with the vs racing 76mm turbo it made 490whp 490rwt

wonder how it doesn't brake the one inch axle shafts making 500lbft... tho a J-mod 4R70EOD 45W takes 500lbft to idle in gear at 1000rpm, know that by the weight of the vehicle over what speed it idles at. 138whp 490lb RIP intake and clogged cats that a person cant even breath thru if they tried blowing into them... 3400ft up, cats bashed out so that S475 has no reason not to work with a 24psi gate. if the OG 1994 aluminum intake was the only restriction, 28psi at 3400ft would be 390hp. some book said the 1987 to 1993 production years from ford got 128'000psi tensile minimum QC, 94 is a 93 year on the stamped tag, bottom yield of 4340... set of 8 scat rods is $230 for a chevy. if it was a Winsor vin it would have thrown the rods out more then 20 years ago as those are nodular iron. pay for all the junk, keeps going slower and slower. turb bird that cant even plow a snow pile. E100 gas with 40% detergents by volume, 2mpg is 100hp.
