The 87-88 924S wing was about the same size as the original.

I adore my 924. It’s my first car! Hi from England! One handy thing is that we didn’t have stringent emissions controls or crash protective bumpers like US cars until the 90’s so our 924’s make slightly more power and look a bit more sleek

I think that nearly every repair you did on this one I had to do back in about 1990 to 95 on mine. The speedos on the 1981s were limited to displaying only up to 85 mph, so replacing them with a proper speedo from an early 944 was SOP. If you press the trip odo reset while moving, it would split the nylon gear, or at least break it loose from the shaft. Usually it could be repaired pretty easily. The other typical issue was the cable would break. It is like the old beetles, with a square end sticking out through a square hole in the dust cap of the left front wheel (for 931s. I assume 932s moved that thing to the right front hub). Almost silly in its simplicity lol.

Hi Sean. Great work. 👍👍 The new muffler is good, but it's normal when you don't have a good glasmuffler in between that the resonances may be way louder in the car. Had the same problem with my Audi A8 D2 4,2 Quattro when the mid muffler was empty... 😉 Dankeschön für das Video. 👍👍👍🇺🇸🚐🇺🇸😎😎😎

OK, now I'm with you. First off, thank you for finding the new parts. I really appreciate it! I'd love to find a used piece that works correctly and save the money for paint and interior, if possible. If not, then I'll definitely look at a new piece.

The clutch could be a damaged clutch plate, or worn/sticking bearings. Changing clutch is a real pain to do, took me two full days. If you had put a larger quality muffler on there it would make alot of difference, mine is almost to quite. The euro 931 had a long small diameter muffler where that cat is located btw.

Time for some euro boost levels and eurobumpers, or at least tuck in the us bumpers to get a better look when things starts to get sorted :)

This is not a turbo. The real turbo has 5 wheel screws, 4 disc brakes, additional 4 opening slits between the lamps. So is a fake! They swapping a turbo engine to an old 924. The brakes are not strong enough for the additional power. So it's a dangerous car. IIRC the turbo has also a boost pressure gauge in the speedometer. But I'm not shure.

It is a genuine 924 Turbo. The 1979 and early 1980s had four lug wheels with disc front and drum rears. It does have the four openings between the headlights. They went to five lug wheels and disc front/rear in late 1980 - on. From the Porsche 924 turbo FAQ: The very early 931 also used the standard/base brakes as per the 924 above. But by the 80 model year the brakes with M-471 option became standard on the 931. 924.org/techsection/9brakes.htm#2%C2%A0-%20Brakes%20-%20general%20description

@@AutoAnatomy ok, I stand corrected. Never know, that very early 931 had 4 lug tires. Never seen one and I've sold all my transaxle books also the complete original Porsche workshop book for 924. I owned lot's of transaxles in 30yrs starting with MJ1978: 5 924 (all 5 speed), 1 924S 160PS, 1 944 2.7 163PS, 1 968 (absolutely my best car ever). Had some 20 classes of Porsche Sportfahrschule safety training in D, B, NL. Very good times.
