From my understanding, it's the moors (North African Muslims) who were expert navigators, it is they who helped in the enslavement and were integral in slaves coming to Jamaica, which helps to explains why the maroons to this day have elements of the islamic religion. For me personally it is thought provoking when I found out current day Egypt is dominated by Arabs and Islam...the obvious effects of multiple colonisations upon a people

That is why we should never be dogmatic about religion. Too many ppl worship the religion and the prophet, and not the inspiration of God. Often, the scripture is not as biased as the practices. Islam included.

What is your definition of religion, does your definition contrast with how the scriptures define "pure religion?" If so, WHY? "Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world." James 1:27 KJV Corrupted religion and pure religion are not synonymous.

Greetings listened to this video in it's entirety. Muta may have pointed out some truth but has mixed it with many historical inaccuracies and generalisation. As learned man he should know better than to filter out knowledge in the same way jacket and tie do although if he is doing out of error May Allah guide him. As an academic and as a fan of the past (not his-story) things are not that straightforward.firstly let us separate the religion and it followers and judge the man according to the religion not the religion by men if we were to do the opposite none of us would stand for anything as many atrocities have been done in the name of religion (Armenian genocide). However if one was to read the Qur'an alongside authentic narrations of what Muhammad did there are a plethora of examples of freeing slaves (manumission) as it is act that is encouraged.slavery outiawed because it would carry on anyway and if legit it would be easier and more manageable than driving it underground (see the outcome of abolition of slaver) Islam gave it rules and ensured that an individual could marry there slave, treat them as equal to a family to the point where abusive slavers especially where that person is a tyrant or to deprived to have a slave and give them their rights would be deterred from possessing a slave. Secondly Arab slavery should not be confused with Europe slavery (bondage and chattel,) they were not doing it to build a worldwide economic structure (free market,/mass consumption).as black people we need stop acting like we were the first/last or worst enslaved that shows a lack of research. In fact the examples of those he gave as victims of slavery and symbols of black excellence maroons/Massa Musa were slavers. Slavery comes from the word Slavs a group of people from East Europe still very vibrant to this day, who are discriminated by ethnic Serbs etc as most recently as Sarajevo genocide inth ,90s .these people were capture by Romans and sold in north Africa to Carthage for example and visa versa. Like the Muslims conquere Spain among other lands without the sword and the expansion of the Muslim lands were known for this.the sword wasn't absent but not the first protocol.evident when we look at the conquering of Spain (Andalusia) the moors (North African) allowed the practice of Judaism and Christianity a move that was not reciprocated when the Roman Catholics consolidated their state in East Europe(Byzantine) and took back Spain by military means committing mass conversions or execution to which the Jews were not even given that choice. Like wise it was the same for hind (India) during the reign of emperor akbar the close descendant of Genghis Khan whose conversion precipitated the growth of Islam in that region.slso any land conquered by islaam didn't stay under Muslim rulership but islaam stayed like British Palestine, Sudan(former part of Abyssinia home of Copt)etc.people read the Qur'an read up on the references that both muta and this comment and don't agree blindly cause it sound nice

The last Messenger to mankind, Prophet Muhammad (may peace be upon him) said: "O Allah, You are the First and there is nothing before You; O Allah, You are the Last and there is nothing after You.” The origin of the word "Race" as a concept is the invention of European countries scrambling/racing to exploit and export the resources of the New World and other nations they thought lesser than them.

I'm kinda skeptical of this because 1) Alot of the sources that report on a Arab invasion of Africa came from White colonialists justifying their actions to say Africans couldn't govern themselves not only that but those same Africans never got rid of their traditions they adopted some aspects of Islam that mixed with their traditions they decided to keep. Howard French even says in Born in Blackness how in places like Mali some places had 2 spots where they could worship Islam or their traditional belifes the choice came down to them. 2) i know Muta endorses Cheikh Anta Diop and Diop flat out says that there was no such Arab invasion of Africa and the only sources that talk about such an invasion come from European colonialists who justified colonialism by say that Africans couldn't govern themselves, not only that but even before Islam's emergence there was a multitude of ethnic groups before Islam's rise. If anything the charge of North African's not really being Africans seem to stem from early Afrocentric scholars from the US (Chancellor Williams, Henrik Clarke etc) trying to find a reaosn why those North Africans weren't black
@MrThefall3

I say none of this with no disrespect to Muta none at all but i feel like alot of this stuff has a way of flattening the multitudes that Africa as a continent has and also has the counterintuitive effect of talking about Africans as if their stupid and in the same way colonialists did.

@@st3019 through trade,cultural exhange and also of their own volition Islam was one of many religions that Africans embraced rather than were forced to adopt. apprently Turkish slaves were being bought in Timbuktu aswell. I think alot of my issue with this discussion overall stems from people trying to fit modern frameworks into ancient history cause they almost always never line up that and while the information from scholars like Williams have been disproven over time alot of people didn't get the up and up

Europeans ( Anglo-Saxons included) are just a branch of west Eurasian ( caucasian ) race , which goes from Europe to Middle East, south west Asia ( Iran, Afghanistan ,Pakistani, India etc) and North Africa. These are one people. Our skin is different Bc we lived in different environments. Black Africans are from subsaharan Africa ( Bantu, Nilotic Pygmy people) . Refuting Mutatalk-a-lots every singe claim. 1. "Arabs enslaved Africans before europeans", muta claims, while speaking on a 1.000 year time span... So the Roman Punic wars never occured in human memory, nor did Alexader the Great march through Africa, nor did the Romans and Egyptians collaborate. No this never occured in the memory of Muta. The statement is false. The concept of slavery in the classical world was quite different. War and debt where the primary causes for slavery and it wasn't ethnically motivated. For anyone not too lazy to pick up a book and study this fact is evident and traceable to all corners of the world. So yes Arabs had greek slaves, persian slaves and slaves from the region of Habasha (ethiopia/eritrea/somalia). I wonder whether Muta has a moral problem with the concept of slavery, because the builders of the pyramids, whom he glorifies at the end of his "insightfull" talk pracised the same. As any classical peoples did. 2. The Muslims entered Africa northern Africa motivated by religion. This is true. Like it holds true in their opening of As-Shaam (Palestine/Lebanon/Syria) and driving out the Romans. Likewise it holds true as they defeated the entire Persian Empire. And like it holds true when they opened Hind (India) and Spain and Eastern Europe up until the gates of Viena. For the purpose of removing all Kisra's, Caesars, Kings, Emperors, Shah's and removing and liberating, what Muslims believe is, the oppression of worshipping (obeying) the creation, and deliver them to the worshipping the Creator of the creation, and to free mankind from the restrictions of this world to the vastness of this world and the hereafter. Thus removing the feet of kings and their elites off the necks of all peoples who had to bow to their every whim and desire and replacing it by Holy law under which all are held accountable, rich or poor. And in this process, peoples where never forced to believe in Islam, yet to submit to the political authority. Hence Coptic Christains are still found in Egypt, Fireworshippers still found in Persia, Hindu's still found in India and Jews seeking refuge with Muslims due to European persecution etc etc. So Muta it ain't a black thing, you might fool the blind, but you can't fool those who see right through you. 3. Muta apparently overheard some socialist marxist speaking when he claims that organized religion in a absolute general sense is "created" to control people. Well Einstein, us humans, due to our innate nature need for society to be structured. Every ideology, like secular capitalism or socialism, by it's system implements regulation in order to organize the relations between people in society and solve the problems that naturally arise out of these relations. And amongst everything classified as religion, Islam is an ideology aswell, a complete way of life. If a religion/ideology does not serve this vital purpose (arranging and looking after the affairs of mankind) it is absolute of no use at all. Marx used this concept about religion to mask the hideous alternative he had planned. So presenting organization as sinister when it comes to complete ways of life is just deceptive nonsense. Should you have mankind live in anarchy or should we all bow down to your whims ?? You have no shame lying and deceiving now, just imagine how corrupt you would be as a well protected king over our heads. Thank you, but no thank you. To be continued And again: not an atoms weight of respect from Suriname
