“Musical Applications” is the reason your channel is so unique in the KZbin Modular family and why I love your channel so much. I listened to a ton of your live performances yesterday and loved it, I can’t say that for 99% of the modular channels out there. More music, less noise

Noise is part of the musical spectrum ~ from dissonance to consonance, no worries about that.

I’ve taken a 2 month break from my system. Frankly…overwhelmed. Uninspired. I’ve come up with a lot of net stuff, but it’s been kind of random. I have Beads. One of my last modules I bought and had such high hopes for. So far haven’t bonded with it. Your twiddling around with it is inspiring. Working up steam to jump back in. Big thanks for the vid.

Cheers for the comment man. I also had high hopes for beads and was pretty disappointed when I first got it. A few months later and I’m starting to warm to it. Jump back in and have some fun ☺️

Thank you so much for making these videos. Such a musical dive into this amazing module. Not that I don’t like videos with more focus on features and explanations of all aspects of a module but your content is refreshingly different and highly informative from a songwriting/production standpoint for me. That being said your introduction into beads in the beginning of this video is the most comprehensive I’ve seen yet. And then lovely tunes to boot, brilliant 👏👏

Beads into Data Bender, or vice versa? J/k, kinda. I found yr channel the other day. Really dig the relaxed vibe and the sense of spontaneity (as somebody remarked, it feels inclusive, like we're along for the ride) ----not to mention the tunes, explanations, etc. You seem genuinely stoked on this stuff, and with a somewhat minimal setup. It's great. Good vibes, good humor (+ thick, lively choons) .. Cheers

I'm going to get your sample pack which I'm sure is full of great sounds!! Thanks! Hey man, another great video! And perfectly timed! I don't know if you remember but I am still planning to start my first eurorack system and asked about Data Bender! Now I am more confused than ever because I read on reddit that basically Beads can do everything Data Bender can do apart from the bit crushing... And now I wondered what is your experience? Of course they are different but what I seek in my first module is some beat repeat and glitchiness... and then afterwards I wanted to look into granular so Beads sounds like a better full package... Do you think a similar glitchiness like Data Bender can be achieved? With less randomness and more control? I feel super lost with the decision for my first module, everything seems great ^^ Cheers, thank you and keep it up with the great content!
@TheUnperson2 жыл бұрын
Personally I would go with Data Bender. It is instantly fun and inspiring. Beads is not an easy module to use - I had it for about 4 months before I felt ready to make a video about it lol. If you are after beat repeats and glitchiness then Data Bender wins hands down.

I’m about to give up on Beads. Never got on with it really. Just feel like I’m constantly wrestling with it to get something decent happening. I rarely seem to get the kinds of beautiful results I hear in demo videos like this one.
@TheUnperson Жыл бұрын
It is a tough module to be honest. For the first few months I realllly didn't like it. I think the best thing to do is keep it very simple at first. Clock the seed input and play a simple sequence through it with the pitch all the way up. It's one of those modules that really needs to be dialled in and that can take some time. It's definitely not easy to get along with!
