thx for your video! As I was checking different quad vca`s I see that the intellijel Quad VCA does the same thing but also does more like getting every audio outputted individually or get them mixed up. With the veils I cannot output different channels separately without having the signal from the upper input in my path as I see. So the intellijel Quad VCA gives me the same features + those mentioned for the same money. Thanks again!

it works other way round: yes you can output seperately, but those channels are subtracted from the mix output

Hi there! I'd like to use veils modulated by an lfo (Tides) for fading in and out of a constant sound source input (a drone). Does the (only) positive Veils cv input meaning that the the sound source can only fade in? How does that work? Thanks!
@DominikVogelModular2 жыл бұрын
hi, no worries you can use each lfo and each vca to fade in and out. veils can deal with positive and negative voltages, but for basic fading this isn't even necessary. lowest point of the lfo (zero volts) means silence, highest point (f.ex. +5 V) means max. volume.

@@DominikVogelModular Thanks! Now that's clear, may i ask what happen (i assume is the case of Blinds) with negative voltage?
@DominikVogelModular2 жыл бұрын
@@federicouffreduzzi2601 negative voltage doubles your opportunities. you could f.ex. fade 2 different VCO´s in turns, control more complex parameters like the play-speed and play-direction of a sampler or cv-recorder or modulate effects. for simple functions, it can also allow a larger voltage range scale, f.ex. -5 V is silence, +5 V is maximum, 0 V would be medium. you can also invert voltages by switching from pos. to neg., that allows you to alter sequences or pitch events or to do basic keychaining.

Still thanks Dominik! What an exhaustive answer, now i've the all picture clear.

Do the clones work as good as the real ones, cuz I’m on a tight budget?

absolutely, if the build is good quality. i have a DIY clone of clouds and am very happy with

if I patch output 2 and 4 does it give me two sets of summed inputs (1+2) (3+4)?
@DominikVogelModular4 жыл бұрын
no, both outputs are the same, but when you use the single outputs A, you can output for example ch.1 seperate and 2,3,4 mixed. or 1 seperate, 2 seperate, 3+4 mixed
