I have read some of the books authored by Manian and had great respect for him. But the moment he started backing Rajni, the high regard I had for him crumbled like a house of cards. Rajni has zero knowledge about anything. This must be evident from the way he conducted himself before he finally bowed out even without taking a plunge.

In the 1980s, Rajinikant made news for all the wrong reasons; he was about to mow down a journalist by rash driving a car for which he had no driving licence; he hit Producer Gurubadam on his head resulting in his bleeding profusely which became a police complaint; at Meenambakkam Airport, he broke window panes and sweared threateningly at journalists. He spoilt a whole generation with his so-called style flipping cigarettes and drinking liquor in a pious fashion sprinkling it on his head and pouring the liquor from glass into his hands. Such a person is hailed as a Gandhi by Tamiluruvi Manian who has ended up becoming a joker of sorts.

Even after his death, it will be owned by a Trust comprising of his family members. It is as if he has dedicated his Kalyana Mandapam to people; but at the same time he is yet to dedicate it.
