Dr sab, good effort on history of ruling Islam. Unfortunely, what happened and what actual Idealogy says are different things. Unless you do not understand ideology well , history is full of confusion, and different terminolgies are taken with different perspectives. Overall, quite educative for a history student

Excellent assessment of our situation. In particular, the conclusion that muslims have not progressed, and still fighting on issues that have long since become irrelevant.. You mentioned that the people of Madina did not come to the defense of Hazrat Usman. Perhaps this was so because they were anticipating that the Islamic khilafat would not be limited to the Makkah tribes, and after some time, one of them would be entrusted with khilafat. When this did not seem to be happening, they felt alienated. If so, then they had a point... Please continue with the impact of later Islamic empires, such as Fatimid, Seljuk, Ottomans, and perhaps the Salahuddin Ayyubi one. These would be having further impact on religious belief systems in practice continuing till now.

One more point is that during Hazrat Omer RA time it was case before him that the ppl who conquered the lands of Iraq and Persia wanted that land to be given to them. This was as per old tradition of that tribal system. But he refused to gave them and support taken from a Quraan verse where Allah SWT wants the fair distribution of wealth and should not the wealth to be circulated in the rich circle. That was great idea , also the soldiers were given salary rather then "maal e ghaneemet'. But after the caliphate in Umvee time and in Marwan family they became big landlords till the time Hazrat Omer bin Abdul Aziz reverted and it became a point of conflict with his own tribe.

The prophet (SM) Mohammad said, go to distant China in order to achieve knowledge. But during the Abbasid period some fundamentalists voiced the opposite to what the prophet claimed. They said the Quran said everything (meaning that you don't need to go to China. The Abbasids decided to follow Mutazilla (question everything) and created the golden age of Islamic science and compiled 400,000 books enshrined in the various libraries. But this trend was halted by the fundamentalists.

Overall seems like good effort but there are some gaps. 1) For Madina the analysis seems not right. Actually it was Madina tul Rasool SAW means The city of Prophet SAW so early Muslims avoided to have fight in this city due to sacred place. A) Before Usman RA, Omer RA also being killed. The rulers were more with spiritual philosophy don't want security guards. Otherwise easy to call army from Syria to deal with rebels. B) later Ali RA also got Shahadat so logic seems not fine of city to defend the caliph. C) In case of Hussain RA it can be said that Kufa has first called him to come and to declare him the ruler. But later betrayed and he got painful Shahadat and that incident has still impacts on today. 2) Madina got status of spiritual capital and political capital has been shifted. Hazrat Ali went to Kufa for political cause but in Hassan RA time he came back to Madina. And Hussain RA again went to political reasons.

Dear Sir, thanks a lot for your lecture it was detailed and well analyzed. During the series you tried to distinguish the definition of Shia and Rafzi(stating that shia's believe in first two caliphates) can you please share the reference of this claim which is expected from professor from your claim. I also want to take the oppurtunity to clarify that Shia's belief that Quran is word of Allah and not created or creator is from 1st Imam Ali and i can share the refrence from Nahj ul Balagh. Similarly concept of Wahadaniyat, Adl and Amr bil maroof.... adopted by Mutazillah are core of Shia its actually plagiraized by Mutazillah not newly developed. May be you can mention it, again i can share the refrences if required that it existed before Mamoon etc . Hope you wont mind, its just a student's request to learn more.
